Lemmify is a highly strategic Lemming packed board game that pits you against your friends and family in a race to safety.
Players start with a family of three lemmings and they must get to their new home on the other side of the board. BUT an entire array of Random Encounters, Natural Disasters and Rough Terrain will slow you down. Thankfully you can protect yourself from most of these atrocities by collecting Save or Play Cards.
Be wary of your so called ‘buddies’ because they can instigate battles to send you back or even use cards against you.
There are two Dice which can be played for one lemming or split so you can move two Lemmings - as the game progresses the danger increases but if you are strategic enough you can survive!
SO... if you like cute little animals weilding chainsaws and setting bear traps please support us on Kickstarter and we will send you our Lemmified Game.
In all scenarios you will get the Lemmify 'Base' game pictured below with
- Family pack of 65 cards
- 24 player counters for up to 8 players per game,
- A pair of six sided dice
- And of course the Game Board
HOW TO PLAY
The aim of the game is to get your family of 3 across the valley of death to the safety of their new home.
To do this you have 2 dice, you can use the number as one whole number for one Lemming or you can split the dice and move two lemmings (sticking to the numbers on the dice please!!) as you move along you must avoid rivers, canyons, forest fires and the ubiquitous Random Encounters which can be good or bad! However you can navigate the terrain using Save or Play cards specific to each obstacle. example rivers can be used as normal squares if you have a boat, Lem Cardashian's floating but or a Childs birthday balloon. Save or Play cards can also save you from predators such as the Lemming Chainsaw Massacre which prevents you being eaten by mountain lions, snakes or being trampled by an angry bull BUT you can only use one card per one lemming (then the card goes back to the bottom of the pack) so use them wisely to get your lemmings to safety.
As you move around the board the risks are greater AND if at any point you land on a space with another teams lemming you must battle it out for territory by rolling one die each, the one with the least has to move back the number they rolled, but beware of landing on Random Encounters and other Lemmings because you must keep going until you are safe.
The game builds in tension as the players begin to reach their new home because you are now in a position where you don’t have the option to choose which lemming you move, beware friends and family as you get closer to winning they might have a mean streak you didn’t know about and use a Save or Play card against another player.
This board game pits you against your family and friends in a fun but strategic game, it’s your job to know which Lemming to move and when to strike in order to get home first. As the game progresses the stakes are higher - Lemmy is counting on you!
- Up to 8 players can play
- Game play is between 30 and 90 minutes.
Completing all three goals with result in the below rewards. thanks guys:
HOW IT ALL STARTED
“I, (Ellora - the creator) spend a lot of my spare time playing card and board games, it’s a great way to get the kids (even the big kids) off of their screens and interacting and laughing with one another, I even force my guests into playing the odd game - but by the end we are all laughing and joking which is when I am at my happiest. One fateful afternoon we began discussing great ideas for games which seeded an idea that I’m sharing with you today - Lemmify was born.”
It began around the fire where we drew our first board and cards and used tiny offcuts of play dough to play out the game.
The Cards we started with in the original game slowly developed into professional board gamey cards, which we are very proud of.
As the idea gained steam I realised we need to find a way to bring this to market and the best way for any game is on the infamous Kickstarter, famous for its major successes over the years. I enlisted the help of a couple of friends to turn this into a reality.
I wanted to keep the entire video animated so decided it was best to animate myself too. below on the right is the original character I drew to represent myself which I thought was pretty accurate but my friends said better to go with a creature that is more relatable rather than the 'crazy cat lady' look. I disagree but it was vetoed in the end: What do you think is better?
Risks and challenges
The team and I have a range of experience including production and shipping (back when video and dvd's were the only way to watch a movie) so we understand logistics and shipping timescales
We've minimised risks by not going crazy with rewards, the game and its expansion packs are already underway and will simply be printed and shipped, we want YOU to have our game quickly and swiftly. Any delays will be communicated as soon as humanly possible.
