All An Act, a new play originally developed at the Actors Studio Drama School MFA Program, is going to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival!
who we are:
All an Act is a new play by Sean Michael Welch, directed by Melody Erfani, and featuring Adam Petherbridge and Kathleen O'Neal. It's about two clowns - Merkin and Petunia - who grew up together, went to school together, and joined the circus together...but one night of mistakes could very well do permanent damage to their life-long friendship. This play was originally developed at the Actors Studio Drama School MFA Program, and now we are taking the show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for its world premiere!
We are currently on our way to raising the last of the funds needed for us to get to Scotland, but still need your help. This Festival (now in its 65th year) is an enormous opportunity for us to network and perform, and therefore we want to make the most of this opportunity - which means covering all our bases.
what we need:
We've got our plane tickets, we've got our stage rented, and we've found a place to sleep. Now we need to secure some show essentials, like props and costume pieces. (The cost of rubber chickens, confetti guns, clown noses, bike horns, blue wigs, and tutus adds up.) Your donation, no matter how large or small, will help ensure that we've got (ballet) shoes on our feet and (bowler) hats on our heads. And in order for us to make sure that people are sitting in the seats when we take the stage, we also need marketing materials and PR. So by donating to our cause, you are helping us make this show the best that it can be.
(As a sidenote, we recently had our first interview published online at The New Current! Some highlights include: All an Act is "perhaps one of the strongest plays heading to the fringe this year" and "set to make their Edinburgh Fringe debut with a strong, passionate, and difficult piece which is destined to become a firm favourite of the 2012 Fringe." Click here to check it out!)
what you can do:
Click to donate and get some cool rewards in the process! And if you can't make a donation at this time, please pass this video along to friends and family, or visit our website for more ways to help out (www.allanact.weebly.com)!
Thank you for your support. We couldn't do it without you.
