Hey there. Thank you SO much for taking the time to check out this project! For those of you who know me, I already owe a huge thanks for your support and encouragement that helped me get here! For those of you who don't already know me, my name is Lauren Ray and I am the owner and designer of HOUSEofLOVELY.
This company started when one of my best friends asked me to make her a silk flower for her hair. This was the very beginning of my love for combining tulle, lace, silk and crystals! For the past 4 years, I have been designing, creating, and selling ready-made and custom bridal accessories through my online Etsy shop. I have been totally blown away with the love I have received through each bride I have worked with! So far, I have created belts, sashes, garters, veils, handkerchiefs, wedding dresses, heirloom pieces, silk flowers, flower halos, hair combs and headbands! HOUSEofLOVELY has been showcased and mentioned on tons of blogs and wedding websites so far- a few of these include: Ashley's Bride Guide, Green Wedding Shoes, The Westchester Wedding Planner, Wedding 101, Style Me Pretty's "The Little Black Book" Best Wedding Vedors, Savvy Deets Bridal, One Wed, Juno+Joy, Rustic Wedding Chic, Artfully Wed, Be U Weddings and more!
I have loved using Etsy as my business outlet and have found it very successful! However, it is a new chapter for HOUSEofLOVELY and it is time for this business to take the next, scary, exciting, wonderful step of going WHOLESALE- and I need YOUR help! This project is a way for me to raise funds to get everything started- and also a way for me to give a little something back to those who feel led to financially support!
Kickstarter is such a great tool for campaigning businesses and allowing everyone to contribute. However, if this pledge goal is not reached, the actual funding for this project will not take place. That being said, anyone who can support me with a financial pledge, with spreading the word on social media and word of mouth- please do! I am so appreciative of any and all types of contributions! (The descriptions for the pledge rewards are explained on the right side of the page. The photos of the rewards are shown below, at the bottom of the page.)
So, I bet you are wondering what "everything" is that needs to get started, huh?! My current hope and dream for this business is to participate as an exhibitor at the Atlanta Bridal Market in September 2014. In order to do this, I need to source materials, redesign my website for wholesale, order labels, create collection samples, research and travel to bridal boutiques across the south, fund a booth, prepare paperwork, and the list goes on! Throughout my journey I will be sending out update emails to all my backers to keep everyone up to speed on how it's all coming along. I am completely blown away with how God has led me here and I am so overwhelmed with excitement to hit the ground running.
The collection that I will be exhibiting at the Atlanta Market will consist of about 30 mass produced pieces that boutiques will be able to carry in-store and also re-order. These pieces will be garters, veils, silk flowers and headpieces. I will also be exhibiting one-of-a-kind pieces created with vintage jewelry and unique materials. These pieces are in a higher, more couture category of bridal accessories!
After experiencing the wedding industry for 4 years- seeing what sells in my shop, talking to hundreds of brides about custom pieces and observing what is currently available in different bridal boutiques, I am fully confident that these products would be successful! If you have any questions, feel free to email me at email@example.com!
