WHAT IS HAMMER AND FORGE?
Hammer and Forge is an exciting supplement to the popular Song of Blades and Heroes tabletop skirmish system which focuses on the Dwarf race and their allies and enemies.
In addition to Hammer and Forge, Ganesha Games is also producing a standalone version of the Advanced Song of Blades and Heroes engine which was first published in our first Kickstarter, Fightin’ Fungi. These standalone rules will be usable for all future expansions to the Song of Blades system.

NOTE: If you own Fightin’ Fungi, you do not need Advanced Song of Blades as it contains the same rules with the fungus specific abilities removed.
If you missed Fightin' Fungi, you can see what that was all about here;

MINIATURES
In addition, we hope to produce a unique range of miniatures focusing on the various different dwarf cultures of the Song of Blades world as well as some of their opponents, allies, and other creatures that populate this region.
There has been a deliberate attempt to capture the heroic, high fantasy style of the late 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s. This was a time of creativity and expansion where influences from authors like Tolkien and Howard where heavily felt in the style of the time. Back when a dwarf could be a thief, a barbarian, an assassin, a cleric. These miniatures let you unlock your imagination again and be free to explore a bigger richer fantasy world. A world that can be whatever you want.... grim, dark, and perilous, or heroic, vast, and unhindered, where anything is possible. We hope you will enjoy them and find uses for them in all your games!
We have already sculpted many masters models and we will use the funds from this Kickstarter to pay for the moulds and materials to put them into production and print the books. The models will be cast in real pewter. All will come with 25mm round plastic bases. :)
Below is a comparison of our models against some of the other miniatures manufactures

We have set the initial funding level low so that we can unlock some of the miner clan miniatures we already made, but if the project gets enough support, we will have a huge number of stretch goals available and an unlimited number of ideas for interesting new models to add to your miniature collection.
HOW TO PLEDGE
Miniatures are organized into sets of 3 miniatures each. Some sets with mounts or larger size models may have less than 3 miniatures per set. This structure is intended to help reduce the production cost and help us fund more miniatures. It does come at the expense of having ultimate freedom to choose the specific models you want, but we feel the trade off is worth it. If you previously supported our fightin' Fungi campaign, you know we can deliver more value for your money.
All you need to do is select a pledge level based on the number of sets you would like to have. The Kickstarter starts with five(5) sets unlocked for the initial funding goal. If the Kickstarter gains more support, you will have more options available to you. You may choose the same set as many times as you like, up to your selected pledge level.
The higher pledge levels give you access to all the normal sets produced by this project, but not models designated as 'ADD ONS'
ADD ON models and sets are available to anybody by just adding the add on amount to your pledge. Only very special or very big and expensive to produce models will be add ons.
Below are the sets that will be available in this Kickstarter. You can see additional background info and illustrations at the bottom of the page.
FREEBIE MINIATURES
As we reach certain milestones in the project, we will be releasing special miniatures that will be included free to any backer that pledges $55 or more. This does not mean that you need to select a base pledge that is $55.00 or higher, selecting a lower pledge and having add ons that total over $55 will also make you eligible to receive the unlocked Freebie miniatures. Your pledge total must be $55 or more before shipping cost is added to receive freebie miniatures.
SHIPPING
All pledges below COLLECTOR level do not include shipping cost. Pledges of COLLECTOR or above, do include worldwide shipping.

US orders will ship domestically from Reno, Nevada.

Limited Edition Weremole Dwarf - included with any miniature pledge!!

The limited edition Weremole model is automatically included with all miniature pledges.
THE MINERS
Skilled smiths, weapon smiths, jewelers, and architects. They have the best weapons and practice rune magic.

Their King Thumas Ven is one of the oldest beings in existence. He survived the Century of Rain and Fire (a 100 year deluge of meteorite swarms and torrential rains that the gods sent to prevent lizard people from taking over the world) and reached near-immortality by feasting on dragon eggs.

Miner infantry use a variety of hand weapons, but shield-splitting axes are always preferred.
Miner Heavy Infantry

Miner Heavy Infantry wear the best metal armor available. Veterans also have gemstone-enchanted armor.
Miner with Battle Tankard, Arbalestier and Lantern Bearer

Dwarves are known for their fondness for drink. Some even use a Battle Tankard which works as a crushing weapon and carries a few sip of the dwarf's favorite ale.
MINER CORE INFANTRY: AVAILABLE!

The core infantry come with hammers, maces and picks, and all have an optional round shield for the left arm.
OUTCAST BARBARIAN HEROES- AVAILABLE!

Outcasts
As some Miners turned to demon worship, Dwarves who refused to work for the dark forces were exiled. These are collectively known as Outcasts. They now live above ground as 'barbarians'. Some even shave their beard and hair as a symbol of their outcast status. Outcasts have limited access to ores and the Miners will not sell them metal.
Kraun, GreenBeard and Ruill may be part of any Outcast warband.
DRAGONSLAYERS AND SCIMITAR MONSTER- AVAILABLE!

Sculpted by: Micah Nichols
Dwarves have a long feud with dragons. A few courageous individuals embrace dragonslaying as their sole profession.
A Wyrmblight is a veteran in dragonscale armor (protecting him from dragonbreath). He's an expensive mercenary that can be used by all factions. A few are also Runecasters, or know a couple of defensive spells.
THE PELTERS

Sculpted by: Micah Nichols
Pelters absorb the natural powers of animals they skin, in a ritual they call Seden Kaan - Animal Soul Sharing. The animals most often skinned for this purpose are bears, wolves, bearwolves (a blue-furred, large wolf with thick limbs), giant wolverines and sabertooth mountain cats.
Pelters 2

Sculpted by: Micah Nichols
Raven Twinblades perform the Seden Kaan ritual with giant ravens. They have increased speed and evasion powers. Veteran Ravens perform lightning-fast knife attacks and can fly short distances.
THE IRON HANDS

The Iron Hands of Hammerfall: a workers’ union of dwarf smiths, who were cast out and forbidden to work when they sided with the rebellious faction in the civil war that tore apart the Miners. Their hands were crippled so that they could not hold tools. The Iron Hands asked their friends to fashion metal gauntlets, hooks and other prosthetic weapons in their place. Today, they are a martial cult and have developed martial art techniques around the use of their prosthetics. There is a long history of rivalry and respect between the Iron Hands and the Path of the Underwood monks from Fightin' Fungi.
THRALLS OF THE LICH KING (UNDEAD)
Undead dwarves led by liches and vampires.

Sculpted by: Chad Hoverter
To spare their loved ones from death, the Malegund population accepted the rule of Darran Dur the Lich King and were all turned into undead.
Heavy Infantry Scytheman: an undead protected by the best armor and armed with two sharp scythes.
Heavy Infantry Maceman: a heavy mace is the best weapon when fighting against other skeletal undead, but it can crush undead and living skulls alike.
Javelineer: armed with enough heavy metal javelins to last through a battle, this troop offers deadly short range missile support.
Axeman and Ram-Rider

Sculpted by: Chad Hoverter
Wight Axeman: a powerful shock troop that knows no fear or mercy.
Skeletal Ram Rider: able to head-butt into opponents and then finish them off with a vicious shortsword attack.
Special Characters

Sculpted by: Chad Hoverter
Darran Dur the Lich King is a powerful spellcaster armed with a magical sceptre and enchanted wrist claws.
Screaming Ghasts emit a deadly shriek that can shatter eardrums and chill a man's soul at the same time.
Vampires are extremely tough and become even more powerful as they feast on the blood of living creatures.
Special Troops

Ghast Headhunter: the more grisly trophies he collects, the stronger and crazier he becomes.
Maggotface: a powerful zombie infested by flesh-eating maggots.
Grabbing Ghost: a spectre that keeps opponents glued in place by paralyzing them with fear and entangling them with its ectoplasmic beard.
SONS OF ASDAZUGH (The POSSESSED)
Demon-possessed dwarves with heavy demonic armor, hellish powers, and an unstable psyche. They are into dismembering, torture, pain-fueled alchemical machines and other similar creative hobbies. They worship two demons: Koylak (also worshipped by hobgoblins) and especially Asdazugh (the Hand the Spins the Wheel of the World). Both demons have been known to manifest in physical form in Possessed warbands.
This set will include...
Possessed Infantry

Heavy Infantry in demonic armor and armed with huge battle-axes.
Hellchain Fanatics whirling flaming, enchanted ball-and-chain weapons.
Brimstone Fusilier armed with enchanted muskets with a variety of bullets.
Possessed Special Characters

Hellfire Weavers are spellcasters specialized in the control of hellfire, which they can shape into walls or throw as fireballs or jets of soul-scorching flames.
Possessed Warlords wear magic demonic armor and wield indestructible blades. They rule over the Possessed through terror and physical might. Their armor molds to their skin to the point that they cannot live without it and cannot take it off.
The Hellglaives are stealthy assassins, able to teleport at your back or disappear in a cloud of brimstone smell if outnumbered.
Painsmith and Demonbone Attack Hound

HOBGOBLINS
Militaristic, tough orange-skinned people of the steppe and the mountains, with hyaenodon-riding cavalry and weather-controlling mages.
Hobgoblin Special Characters

Sculpted by: Paolo Fabiani
Heroine: about 20% of the mostly left-handed hobgoblins are ambidextrous and are taught to fight with two weapons.
Leaders are clad in the best metallic armor available and use a "rattleblade" (large sword with metal rings) to signal orders to their warriors.
Mistmancers are spellcasters who learn to affect the weather and send messages through the wind and mist banks.

Risks and challenges
We have already successfully delivered our first Kickstarter earlier this year. We firmly believe that the majority of the risk for a Kickstarter should be with the creator and not the backers. For this reason, we have already paid for the main sculpting and are ready to go into production once the project is funded. We have learned even more from our first Kickstarter and are confident this one will be even better. There is little risk these miniatures will not be ready on time.
The primary risk is there will be delays in sculpting any new miniatures added as a result of stretch goals. We have three very capable and talented sculptors who all have a consistent track record of delivering on time, but one can never predict unforeseen circumstances which could cause delays. To ensure the project is fulfilled, we also have a list of back up sculptors, in the very unlikely event the primary sculptor is unable to deliver.
We are very confident, that should the project fund we will ultimately be able to fulfill the project as described and within a reasonable time frame to our backers. We also ensure we have enough reserve funds for contingency to deal with any unexpected additional costs. If you backed our first project, you know we deliver and are a trustworthy company.
