A two night event, featuring live music by, and photos of, some of the best local musicians and DJ's Anchorage has to offer.
The past year has been a labor of love for me, I've taken pictures of over 70 local bands (and a few nationally touring groups to boot!) and now I want to share it all with the rest of the people that enjoy these amazing musicians.
We want to create the perfect environment for viewing the photos of local musicians doing their thing. How will we do this you ask? By putting the photos up in one of the coolest venues in town, Taproot, and bringing together some of the best bands, solo musicians, and DJ's Anchorage has to offer.
Friday, March 1st.
- Sophia Street
- The Modern Savage
- Clint Samples
Saturday, March 2nd.
- Hawkins Wright
- The Sweeteners

Why we need you!
The purpose of this Kickstarter is to pay the room fees for Taproot (we already have the nights booked, so now we need the $500 for each night) and to pay the bands (nobody should work for free!) So that is where you come in. Through donating to this Kickstarter you can guarantee admission to the show (Taproots not the biggest place in town!) OR you can get a print of any photo I've taken OR you can get admission AND a print! AND EVERYTHING COMES WITH A STICKER! YAY STICKERS! Together we can put on an amazing two night event that brings out some of the best musicians in the Anchorage music scene.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
We already have the bands confirmed, as well as the Taproot booked for the two days. So really the biggest chance for problems to happen is making prints and getting them to the right people. I've decided to minimize the chance of problems arising by using SmugMug.com to print and ship any reward prints.
Also, anyone who pays for the photo package gets top priority on my schedule, and I'll keep a list in case anyone wants to hold off for a specific event or date.
The show will go on! However the bands will not get paid what they deserve, and the whole fundraising side of things will be shot down. Taproot will keep their $500 a night from the cover charge, and any remainder will be split up between the bands.
For someone to use Taproot, outside of the venues's regular schedule, they charge a fee for the venue. Hence the "room fee". At any given time some one can reserve the venue for anything like for example a fundraiser such as this one.
