We've been a band for almost 10 years now. In the past decade, we've recorded 3 albums and released 7 music videos. We've always wanted to go on tour, but never had the chance. FINALLY the chance has arrived and we are taking it. Our destination gig is none other than SXSW in Austin, TX. With your support we can hit the road and make SXSW the highlight for our first tour in March. Below is our planned tour route:
Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois and Wisconsin.
If that wasn't enough...We're in the midst of making a brand new EP to be released in March. A $25 pledge will pre-order the brand new EP, "The Heart of Diptera"! Aaaaaaaand you'll also receive the tour t-shirt!
We'd love to see some of our fans on the road, so hopefully we'll be in a city near you. In order to fund this tour, we need to raise $4,000. We're using Kickstarter to "kick start" that goal with $1,500...ba dum psh...
HOWEVER ... IF we raise:
$6,000 not only can we afford the entire tour, but we'll also purchase a macbook; which will help us create an even better live show!
$10,000? We can afford in ear monitors!
$20,000? We'll ride proper like, in the SotF RV/bus!
WAIT! THERE ARE PERKS FOR EVERYONE!! We enjoy playing songs from bands that have influenced us. So, if we reach the goals below, we'll release YouTube videos of us covering the following songs.
$100 raised - Change (in the house of Flies) by Deftones
$500 raised - Lateralus by Tool
$1000 raised - Thriller by Michael Jackson
$1500 raised - Sober Yourself by Tool & Eminem (our own remix/mashup)
Dare us... ;)
$2500 raised - Free Bird by Lynard Skynard (All of it)
$5000 raised - Kiss the Girl from Little Mermaid (lol, yea for real)
Find us on YouTube for some of our other cover jams. But first, here's an original...
Risks and challenges
Some of the risks and challenges will be:
Funding the entire tour - Between Kickstarter, playing other local shows between now and March and merch sales; we should be able to meet the financial goal.
Venues to book and bands to play with - Using online tools like Facebook, Reverb Nation and Sonic Bid we should have plenty of time to locate and contact other bands and venues to set up some shows.
Travel expenses - The idea is to negotiate enough pay at each show in order to afford the motel rooms, gas and food. This is doable!
Playing in markets we have never been to before - That's why we'll focus on contacting similar sounding bands in the areas, based on the assumption that they'll be able to draw in a decent crowd.
Sending money home to our families to make up for time away from our "regular jobs." That's what the $4000 is for. :)
Your support means the world to us and we can't thank you enough for helping make this dream a reality. We look forward to seeing everyone on the road!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Yes you can. As long as your total pledge meets the requirement, you can switch anytime until Dec. 2nd. So let's say you pre-ordered the EP for $25, but then you decide you'd rather have the "Contributed" shirt. You can up your pledge to $50 and then switch.
If we meet our goal, we'll contact all the backers in the first week of December to lock down shirt sizes and bonus rewards. We want you all to be happy with your pledge. We'll stop at nothing to make sure you get exactly what you signed up for.
