About this project
BetaBotz is a bidding and negotiation game with a take-that element and virtually no player down time!
In the game you play as a Betabot with one goal - earn your way to the robot promised land of Robotopia! Bitz are the currency of the robot world and will allow you to purchase upgrades and negotiate with other players - but spend wisely, because these are also your victory points which will ultimately prove whether you are worthy to enter Robotopia.
The game is played in three phases: a robot auction in which you acquire your base robot for the rest of the game; component auctions where you may purchase upgrades to increase your abilities and gain an edge over the competition; and missions where you can prove your mettle by completing challenges alone, tripping up your opponents, or skillfully negotiating your way to success.
Expected Ship Date is March 2017!

Risks and challenges
Risk/Challenge: Completing all remaining artwork and naming all Robot, Mission, and Code cards.
Description: Though we are working with an amazing artist, we currently have just a small portion of the cards completed. Even with our Kickstarter funding, we will still have to put forth our full effort to ensure that the remaining cards are completed at the highest standard both from a naming, card description, and visual art perspective.
Solve: We have had a wonderful time working with our illustrator, who has been nothing but cooperative right from the start. We have the same artistic vision, which provides a smooth avenue in the creative process. We are confident that between the creators and our illustrator, we can successfully complete the remaining cards at the highest quality in a timely manner.
Risk/Challenge: First time business owners
Description: As first time game developers and business owners, there are lots of nuances that we have discovered along the way, and undoubtedly lots more to come. From operating statements and capital distribution schedules to taxes and business licenses, we have ventured into numerous unfamiliar territories. Going forward, we plan to make our products available across multiple states, which presents new challenges both logistically and administratively.
Solve: As our business operations ramp up, we plan to consult both legal counsels and business owners to ensure that we take the appropriate route in both financial decisions and administrative items. Our number one objective after the funding is to successfully distribute rewards to all backers as quickly as possible. From there, we will use the remaining funds to begin subsequent operations with the help of outside legal counsel.
Description: One of the, if not the most, challenging aspect regarding game development is marketing both pre and post Kickstarter. Unlike other product categories, the best way to market tabletop games is through playing the actual game. Without a large marketing team, it can sometimes be difficult to introduce the game to a large audience in a short amount of time.
Solve: Though we have a relatively small core game development team, we have had lots of help from friends, family, and even new Betabotz lovers from our events across the country to help us spread the word about our game. We have hosted numerous events across multiple state and have had huge successes across the country. We've even had an event in Taiwan! Both during and after our campaign, we plan to continue hosting events and attend conventions to continually spread the word about our new amazing game!
