About this project
All Jarred Up began as an experiment on the e-marketplace website Etsy and quickly grew into a thriving dessert company. We began by filling a niche market specializing in travel-sized pies, cookies and specialty sauces shipped directly to your doorstep. We fit all of our tasty treats into reusable mason jars, making sure to include helpful hints on recycling the jar for future uses. Each order is handmade, baked-to-order and shipped on the same day to maintain the fresh from the oven taste. We are 100% committed to using as many natural, organic, and locally-sourced ingredients as possible. We have since expanded our operation to include full-sized pies, cakes, brownies, and loads of other delicious goodies. We are always working on new products for our customers to enjoy and are constantly striving to provide people with delicious, handcrafted, natural/preservative-free goodies.
While in Los Angeles, we have accumulated numerous accolades for our desserts. We have been featured on DailyCandy.com, UrbanDaddy.com, NBC's First Look, Sunset Magazine (twice!), Los Angeles Times Holiday Gift Guide, just to name a few.
The People Behind The Brand
All Jarred Up was started by two awesome people: Teri Hiles and her fiance Evan Woschnik. Teri is a native Angeleno who was practically raised in the kitchen. Evan is a New Yorker who always had big dreams and had the persistence and know-how to make them come to life. The two of us met at a Halloween party in 2007 in Los Angeles. The idea for All Jarred Up actually came out of a fight, but while the idea was born out of anger, the company has made us (both individually and as a couple) stronger and happier than anything else could have. While Teri does all of the baking, Evan does almost everything else behind the scenes (including being the best taste-tester there is!).
Our New Adventure!
This is a big leap for us, but we are so excited for our move to Portland! We have moved our entire lives (including our two dogs :) ) just over one month ago. We are ecstatic to be living in such a vibrant, green, foodie-loving, walkable, community-appreciating city such as Portland!
The ultimate goal for All Jarred Up has always been to have a storefront. We have always desired being able to interact daily with the community as opposed to only communicating through email. We cannot wait to be able to see peoples faces and hear their feedback. The ability for us to open our very own food trailer in a city like Portland is just our biggest goal coming to life!
This is where you, the Kickstarter community, come in! With your donation, here is what we plan to build: a fully customized "All Jarred Up" 8x16ft. trailer; the trailer will be a fully certified kitchen on wheels. It will contain everything we will need to create all of our yummy desserts!
How Kickstarter Works
This Kickstarter fundraiser is all or nothing: if we don't reach our goal, we will not receive any of the donations pledged and your credit card will not be charged. If we do reach our goal (we really hope we do!) your credit card will be charged when the campaign ends. To the right you'll find a list of rewards for different levels of pledges. Please help us make our dream become a reality!
Risks and challenges
There is always the potential for something to not go as planned. Whether it be we cannot find an opening in a food cart pod (we will remain mobile and keep people updated with our location via facebook and twitter) or we have plumbing or electrical issues (Evan's dad is a construction genius and is always willing to lend a hand) we are prepared for all situations!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
