UPDATE: I've refined the pin designs a little! Because of how fast the project was funded I've been able to up the production quality quite a bit! They're now hard enamel pins on a black nickel base with five colors (all colors but black will glow in the dark). These pins are going to look VERY good! Here's an updated mockup!
Powered flight has evolved four separate times during the history of life on earth. Only four times! The first time it was insects, but the other three times it was vertebrates, like you and me! Even though wings evolved three different times in three unrelated species, they all share a lot of basic structures. That's convergent evolution, baby!
Look at your arm. Arms are neat! All terrestrial vertebrates have the same basic bone structure. Evolution has turned those arms into wings in three different ways, and now you can own a pin set celebrating that super neat fact!
This pin set features a pterosaur wing, bird wing, and bat wing! You can compare and contrast the bone structure and look real slick while telling the world "hey science is neat, look at this science."
You can get individual pins or the whole set!
If we make it to $1200 the pins will all GLOW IN THE DARK. So you can enjoy the splendor of convergent evolution EVEN IN THE DARK.
Risks and challenges
This is my sixth Kickstarter, my second enamel pin Kickstarter, and my fifth go at making enamel pins! I'm pretty confident in this project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
