About this project
Project Ninja Panda Taco is a game where you get to play a Mastermind trying to take over the world. Along the way, you’ll compete as a Nemesis against other Masterminds and as a Minion who loves to help, while receiving rewards for their hard work. This is the first game from Jennisodes Inc, and we are proud to present Project Ninja Panda Taco.
We've just met our initial goal! Yeaaa!!! Our first stretch goal is for $13,500. We will add additional pages and art work to the book. We will also expand some of the sections with more information and create new downloadable material such as a Mastermind naming convention! With only a couple days left we can do it!
Retailer Level Update:
We are updating the retailer level at $105. This level will include 7 books instead of 6 and each additional book will be $12.50 instead of $15. We can not change the wording of the actual level but hope the retailers looking at the game check it out.
Pledging over $100 or more:
As a backer if you pledge $100 or more for every $100 you will get one hour of free consultation from the Project Ninja Panda Taco editor, John Adamus on ANYTHING you're writing, want to write, or want to create! John is amazing and loves to talk about editing, world creation and game mechanics. For those already pledging over $100 you will get a consultation!!
Project Ninja Panda Taco is about Masterminds taking over the World and the Minions who try to help. The game is a low-prep, lighthearted, collaborative roleplaying game that is perfect for everyone around the table.
Project Ninja Panda Taco is designed for 4 to 6 players and is played in a single session that lasts about 2 hours. Little preparation is required as character and plan creation happens at the table.
In Project Ninja Panda Taco you get to play a Mastermind character who must create a three step plan to take over the world. The Mastermind with the most steps completed at the end of the game wins and will rule the world.
“Project Ninja Panda Taco is accidentally ambitious. In setting out to make a fun game, Jenn has cracked the code on one of the great challenges of game design - making an RPG that is as quick and easy to play as a family game while still capturing the things that make RPGs great. Like funny voices....And improbable doom...And revenge.....REVENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGE!” - Rob Donoghue
You also get to play a zany Minion who loves earning shiny toolbelt items by helping the Masterminds. And you’ll want to get as many toolbelt items as you can; the minion with the most gets promoted to Mastermind status.
Project Ninja Panda Taco is a super fun game that will make everyone laugh at the table. The use of funny voices, evil laughter and a passionate desire to rule the world is strongly encouraged. Here is a short video explaining one turn of play.
Jenn recently ran a game of Project Ninja Panda Taco on Google+ Hangouts with her friends Daniel Solis, Liz Bauman and Lynsday Peters. The game was broadcast live and recorded. If you missed it and want to see how to play the game you can check it out below! Watch this group of friends have a hilarious time playing the game.
We recently conducted a Q&A session about the game and made some new announcements now that we've met our initial goal!! You can check it out here:
The Project Team:
Brian Patterson created all the art for the kickstarter video and will be drawing all the art work for the game. Brian is the mastermind behind the webcomic d20monkey. His art style is perfect for the megalomaniacal game.John Adamus is the editor for Project Ninja Panda Taco. You may know John as the Writer Next Door and his work on projects such as "Dinocalypse Now" and the upcoming “Paranet Papers” from Evil Hat. Using his keen eye for excellence John has helped Jennifer hone her writing techniques to create an amazing game.
Daniel Solis is doing the layout for the book which is sure to please everyone. You know Daniel from his work with Happy Birthday Robot, and Do: Temple of the Flying Pilgrims.
Goal and Contributions:
The goal is set to help cover the costs of publishing, editing, layout, artwork, promotion and time. I need your support for Project Ninja Panda Taco because I feel this game is incredibly fun and that everyone should have a chance to play it. During playtesting all the players came away from the table laughing and loving their characters. I want to share this enjoyment with you and have it look amazing with beautiful artwork.
If we meet this goal, your contributions will help us print the game and cover all the initial costs. If we exceed the goal, I’ll use the additional funds to create extra things for the game. More details on these ideas will be available as the Kickstarter goes forward.
Brian Patterson has created a gorgeous piece of art that will be placed on a bumper sticker and sent out to every backer who pledges the Enhanced Toolbelt level and above!
As an exclusive for this Kickstarter at the Takeover Level and above, we will be creating a set of 4 postcards with the amazing artwork from Brian Patterson.
