You're shining and I can see you!
There I was in the recording studio yesterday when my phone rang and my text message buzzer buzzed with dear ones letting me know that my Kickstarter project had reached its goal.
I'm so proud of my 114 backers! Whether you contributed $1 or $1800 you have been an important part of putting this project over the top. You are shining gems one and all.
[Kickstarter exclusive: click on the play button below to hear me singing a snippet of what has been running through my head and singing through my heart a lot as I move toward bringing this new CD into the world with your backing (Shawn Colvin's "Diamond in the Rough").]
And I know that many of you also used email and Facebook and Twitter and podcast waves and word of mouth to bring others in as well. We are currently 100.01% funded and very much looking forward to being able to put these funds to good use.
Of course, if you know folks who were hoping to contribute but haven't yet done so, they still have 59 hours to get on board and it's still the best way to pre-order a CD or pre-pay for a voice/song session.
What's next? Once the project closes on Saturday night, Amazon will hold all the money for a couple of weeks before they distribute it to me (also during that time, I will be on vacation in lovely wintery Provincetown). After that I'll be in touch about how to get you your rewards. And, of course, I'll keep you informed of progress on the CD itself since you are now officially a stakeholder in its successful completion.
Much gratitude to each and every one of you 114 shining souls. Thanks for helping me give voice to the songs that move through me.
