By Now I've Lived a Thousand Lives and None of them are Mine is a narrative feature film that tells the story of Britni and Hillary, two women in their 30's, who have decided to move to two different towns in Montana. Britni is in the midst of returning back home to her parent's house after finding herself lost and alone in the world, and Hillary moves to Bozeman to try and carve out a new life for herself in a new place.
I've been photographing and making movies in and around Montana for many years and want to continue with this film, starring my family and friends and people I meet along the way.
My Grand Jury Prize winning first feature film, TIRED MOONLIGHT, a wandering portrait of the American west shot on 16mm film, played at festivals around the world including New Directors/New Films at MoMA in New York City, The International Film Festival Rotterdam, and the Viennale in Vienna, Austria. Fandor called it, "a work of small moments and natural wonders" and The New York Times said it is "full of the oddness and vitality that are essential to the continued promise of American cinema (and American life)."

In both photography and filmmaking I aim to capture the magic of real life without the strict constraints of large crews and all the regular movie making stuff, and I find nothing better than setting a movie in a real life environment, which is why I will again be casting all real-life people.

Although the movie will be loose and exciting, it will also be dark, and stormy, and eerily beautiful. Britni will visit Hillary in the mountains of Bozeman, sleep next to her aging dogs, swim in hot springs, and deflate air mattresses next to her sister. As much as it is about her finding a new life, it will also be about a family and a place in time. And of course mountains, sadness, and the unease of finding yourself alone in the world.
---There are many beautiful people involved in the making of this project!---
Sage, my long time friend and collaborator, will hold the camera and Hillary will take us into the mountains of Bozeman.
All of these friends and moms and dads and kids and uncles and grandmas and brothers and sisters in law will also lend their faces and their magic.

Risks and challenges
Movies are really, reeallly expensive, even when people offer their time and energy. We want to get a professional camera so Montana can shine with its fog and light. We also need to drive a lot and eat food and drink coffee and pay for things like gas for boats.
Once the movie is shot, there is editing and music and color correction and more coffee. We would be so grateful for your support in these things!
