Help buy a camera and fund the first episode of Frown Town, an independent puppet show about children, but most definitely not for them.
When saucer-eyed James Rumsey and his sociopathic stillborn twin brother Phauntleroy are sent to live in the big city, life goes from horrid to horrider. What will become of this discarded child? Inevitably death — it’s waiting for us all — but along the way there’s sure to be plenty of bad luck, misadventure and a whole lot of laughs. So turn your smile upside down and hop the next bus to Frown Town.
Frown Town is an independently produced puppet show grounded in a cult television mentality and pitch black humor. We've spent the last year in trenches made of foam, felt and fleece, building a cast of characters and blogging the entire process at www.frowntown.net. They're finally finished, and we're getting to work on the sets. Up until now, our materials have been scavenged couch cushions and felt from half off sales at the fabric store. The materials for building the sets is getting expensive, though, and the only video camera we have access to is archaic. With your help, we can get a new camera, produce the first episode, and even get the jump on the rest of the series if it goes really well. Once we're set, we'll film the first episode (the script's written already) and put it up free for everyone on the internet. If you'd love to see a freak-puppet show look its best, please support us!
Soft and cuddly as these foam-faced moppets may seem, the story lines are grim and the morals would make Aesop cringe. Noted reprobates Andy Warner and Steven Foundling can be held responsible.
