We are four graduate students from Oslo, Norway and are partnering with the founder of Qoya movement, Rochelle Schieck and Qoya teacher and mom, Deb Bard Javerbaum, to develop the concept and curriculum for Qoya KIDS by adapting the philosophy of Qoya to children. It will be an opportunity for kids to learn movement like a language, just like how we express ourselves with words, they will learn how to express themselves with movement.
Through Qoya KIDS children will have an invitation to know how to connect to their true selves and to dance with awareness of the pulse of life. Qoya KIDS is based on empowering and balancing kids through simple techniques that they can use at anytime like shaking, yoga poses, dance and meditation.
Qoya KIDS will be launched online on the site embodyqoya.com the 11th of June 2012 and will serve as a reference of videos for kids and parents to do together to nurture the qualities of wise, wild and free in each child.
Wise - the wisdom of yoga and the ability to follow their inner intuition.
Wild - the free expression of dance.
Free - the ability to have fun and be present here and now.
Teacher trainings as well as programs to be implemented into schools for teachers will be developed and available on the emodyqoya network.
Help us develop Qoya KIDS!
A little movement goes a long way and Qoya is one of the easiest ways to remember that our essence is wise, wild and free.
Qoya KIDS – Choose love. Love always wins!
