WITH 48 HOURS REMAINING I WANTED TO SWEETEN THE DEAL A BIT. IF WE HIT 12K, I WILL CREATE THE MONSTER COMPENDIUM AS A PDF AND GIVE IT TO EVERYONE AT THE $50 PLEDGE LEVEL AND ABOVE. (MY DESIRE IS TO PRINT REAL BOOKS OF IT, BUT I'D NEED TO HIT 15K FOR THAT). HERE'S TO HOPING!! SPREAD THE WORD.
BECAUSE OF INTEREST, I AM MAKING THE KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE PRINT AVAILABLE TO ALL PLEDGERS (ADD $25 TO YOUR PLEDGE AND THEN MESSAGE ME THAT YOU'VE DONE IT). BUT WITH THIS I FELT COMPELLED TO ADD A BONUS TO THOSE WHO'VE PREVIOUSLY PLEDGED AT THE $100 LEVEL. THE $100 AND ABOVE PLEDGES ALL GET AN ORIGINAL INKED PAGE FROM THE BOOK. (WHAT PAGE YOU'LL GET WILL BE UP TO MY DISCRETION, BUT I ASSURE YOU, I'LL PICK THE COOL PAGES AND NOT JUST TALKY ONES) I WORK ON 8.5 X 11 PAPER SO IT WON'T BE A GIANT PIECE OF ART. I'LL BAG IT AND SIGN THE PAGES AS WELL.

My name is Manny Trembley--author, illustrator, graphic designer, and I spend my free time making graphic novels. In the past five years I co-produced two original graphic novels published by Image Comics--PX! Book One: A Girl and Her Panda and PX! Book Two: In the Service of the Queen. As well, I created and co-produced six issues of a comic series also published at Image Comics called Sam Noir: Samurai Detective (three issues) and Sam Noir: Ronin Holiday (three issues).
PX! Book One sold out its initial print run and went on to a second printing. It was also nominated for two Eisner Awards: Best Digital Comic and Best Teen Publication.
(We lost to Joss Whedon in one category, which is fun to say.)
My plan is to use my knowledge of comic production and my experience so far to create my new brand of graphic novels under the publishing company FishTank Books.

What the heck is FishTank Books??
My goal is to create a line of books for people of all ages. These books will be smaller in size, 50-100 pages approximately, and simpler in presentation. My primary passion is to make genuine books that don’t pander to children or adults. A lot of products masquerading as kids books carry a cynicism and perspective that caters to adults. I feel that there is not enough content that celebrates dreaming and the belief people are made for adventure and fun!
I love comic books and kid’s books and when left to my own devices I create books that celebrate adventure, dreams, and a belief that we are meant for more than people give us credit. People should embrace awesomeness, chase impossibility, and postpone practicality, reality, and cynicism as long as possible. And we as adults should help be the catalysts, spurring kids to explore the ridiculous and hope for greatness.
If the books I make are not something I would read then I have no interest in making them.
My plan is to be able to someday spend all my time devoted to books like Martin Monsterman. I hope that by the time my own boys are seven, eight, nine years old, I will have a whole library of titles that were created with them in mind.
What is he doing here at Kickstarter!?!
Kickstarter is the place where I can start this adventure. It’s hard as an adult to dream big. People spend so much time telling each other about the things we “can’t” do, but in an environment like Kickstarter people seem to be more interested in encouraging dreams. Not popping each other’s balloons.
My goal is simple. Produce my graphic novel, Martin Monsterman in full color. That ain’t cheap. With your help I will raise the $7000 I need to get full color books printed and ready for you as well as conventions and for sale online. Martin Monsterman is my second release through FishTank Books. And it won’t be the last.
This book is called Martin Monsterman.
It is the story of poor Martin Monsterman (pronounced like Letterman) who one day wakes to find himself the recipient of an inconsiderate curse. Each day he receives a notice (via letter, television, singing telegram, etc.) that explains that he will turn in to a specific monster that day. He must spend the whole day as that monster, and when a new day starts, he will change into something else. He could be a Godzilla-type creature, a crab man, a werewolf, a vampire, or the cockroach that ate Cincinnati. With the help of his two friends he must search the world for a way to reverse this daily, punctual curse. Martin Monsterman is an “adventure-monster-comedy” that has the potential to be developed in multiple standalone graphic novels.
I've decided to add the first 9 pages of inks for your viewing. Hopefully it'll give you a better example of the books flavor. The color samples are still below. But these 9 pages are the first 9 pages of the book. Enjoy.
Hope you enjoyed the small preview.
Now for a couple of the previously displayed pages colored a few more for color example.

I am excited to have you all join me on this new path towards creating unique graphic novels for kids of all ages. I will update regularly to keep you all in the know as to how my projects are going!
Let’s make some books!
Risks and challenges
As in any production there is a risk the book will not be completed. Martin Monsterman is project I am passionate about and have planned out thoroughly to completion. The book is written and I am in the middle of production on it. The biggest thing this Kickstarter does is assure me I can afford to print it when finished.
Why am I qualified to get this book done and in your hands in a timely fashion? Good question. I have co-produced an Eisner nominated graphic novel through Image comics that is available right now on Amazon, called PX! Book One- a girl and her panda. I also co-produced a follow up book to that one and published 6 issues of a book called Sam Noir- Samurai Detective (the collected trade for that book is also available on Amazon right now).
All the books I've worked on were turned in on time to Image comics all the while working a day job. (Which is what I am doing now)
Also in the past year I have written and produced over 100 pages of content for my own books that I published through my own book publishing company.
I'm ready and I am serious about making graphic novels.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
