I too got the email but never heard anything back from my response. It is such a shame that this project has not been finished. We believe in the program and that is why we offered to help.

JC what is going on now, August 2016. Your backers have been very patient.

Hi Everyone! On Mon, Mar 28, 2016 at 2:52 PM I got an email from JC offering to refund my donation. I said no if he would just post an update on this site. He said he would in a few days, well it is now May 12th and I do not see any update.

Has anyone else gotten any emails from JC?

How are you? I hope this message finds you well.

I wanted to offer you an update to Tradition of Excellence and to let you know what has been happening with this project.

For the past four years, my friends and I have been hard at work trying put out a finished product. Along the way, we have had hard stumbles, including losing the one copy of the original cut we had already assembled, forcing us to start again from scratch. Last year, I paid $3000 out of my own pocket to a friend to re-assemble the film, but the time necessary to complete the work far exceeded what I could pay. Since then, another friend of mine has graciously stepped in to help me finish the film free of charge but because I'm the lowest bidder, he has to take priority projects that will actually pay him since this is how he makes his living.

I still have faith that we will complete this film in the next few months, but I don't think it's fair anymore for me to continue holding the money you donated given how much time has passed with no finished product, so I'd like to offer you a refund of your $100 donation.

Rest assured that upon completion, you will still receive a copy of the film, along with the postcard and poster as promised. That's the least I can do after the frustration and disappointment I must have put you, your family, and the other families of the program through with how deeply invested everyone was with this project.

Please let me know the method of payment you would prefer for your refund, and if you would allow me the next month to put the funds together, that'd be most appreciated.

Thank you again for everything, and I hope despite everything that has transpired, you will still be pleased with the final product once we have completed it.

      Sincerely yours,

      JC Chang

I believe we have all been scammed by JC Chang. I ran into him in a eatery in Arcadia in late 2012, he mentioned something about the sound wasn't finished because the guy who supposed to do it was a volunteer without pay...anyway. He just took the $6000 and created a one minute teaser.

I am wondering when we will get to see the actual documentary. We would love some update to whether or not there will be a scheduled showing or when the backers will receive their benefits (such as a copy of the DVD). Thanks!

Hi, I haven't heard or receive anything for a while, and it has passed 5 months since the last promised releasing date of the video. What's the process of it, are we backers receiving the finished version soon? When will be the premiere?

Thank you for spending your time this season to make this documentary. I hope all Arcadia alumni support your project!

The 'Arcadia Apache Marching Band' program has a rich history of excellence in Southern California. As impressive as the band program is, and it IS, equally impressive is their 'Arcadia Festival of Bands' (earlier known as West Arcadia Band Review)! This 'picture-perfect' tournament, set with the beautiful San Gabriel Mountain range as a backdrop, stands as THE premiere 'end of season' marching band showdown... and has for decades! Congratulations to directors, students, parents, alumni, and community. Best wishes on funding and filming this project!

Wish you the very best on your project! I am a former marching band mom from Georgia. Our band partcipated in BOA each year as well as marching in the Rose Bowl parade. I know how much hard work is involved. I also know what an amazing experience it is for all involved. I still miss those days!!

      Dear JC
I hope within your film, you mention the importance of fund donation to this music program. More importantly, that you provide a simple mean to donate to the program as you did for your film. PayPal donation or Amazon are both easy & efficient way to do so.

I would be happy to donate to this program if only I knew how ? Nobody, ever ask or even provided a mean to do so!

The preview is great! I look forward to see the film.

      Best Regards,
      Joseph Gadoury

Great project. Big daddy approved so that means excellence is certified.
