About this project
We are Hip Chick Farms and we make delicious frozen chicken fingers, chicken meatballs, chicken wings and chicken stock. We are a family business, run by partners Jen and Serafina. We started our business because Jen cooks for kids everyday, and they love the taste of her food. She makes amazing, homemade food with locally sourced, organic ingredients. We are passionate about food and family, and have combined these loves to make our family friendly product line. Our recipes are kid tested and mom approved!
Rubyrose enjoying a chicken finger!
We are really into the slow food and heritage breed/food movements – which are basically a way of living and eating that connects the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment. We have spent months sourcing the highest quality, healthiest ingredients for our products by meeting with local farmers and undertaking extensive research about chickens. We use pasture-raised, humanely treated chickens to make our products.
We are constantly searching for ways to make our products as delicious, sustainable and humane as possible. This is how we live, and we want to share this way of life with other families. But we need your help!
That's some real delicious chicken that your kids are going to love!
Our goal is to raise, process, and distribute our chicken products and manage the process from beginning to end. There are no preservatives, hormones, antibiotics, or filler in our products, and by freezing them, we can ensure their quality and purity. With your help, we can fulfill our goal of providing families with products kids will love that are lovingly made - from the way the chicken is raised to the way we cook them.
Saucy, spicy and sweet wings with a kick!
With your support on Kickstarter, we will be able to purchase badly needed equipment for the commercial kitchen, such as:
- a commercial grade fryer
- sealer for packaging
- a freezer insert for our delivery truck – we really want to distribute everything ourselves and believe in building relationships with everyone from the farmers we are buying carrots from to the grocery store who is selling the final product.
Chicken meatballs for dinner tonight!
We truly believe that by working together we are not only starting a business, but we are building community.
One more because she is so cute!!!
