Del Shores: My Sordid Life is the one-man show written and performed by SORDID LIVES creator Del Shores. The show toured over 30 cities to sold-out houses and is now being filmed on January 6th, 2011 at the Renberg Theatre to be released on DVD April 1, 2011.
Shores shares the real life stories that have inspired his writing and more in DEL SHORES: MY SORDID LIFE. Yes, there was a man with two wooden legs. But did his grandmother trip over them and die while having a sordid affair? And did his mother really ask, “What exactly do you do…when you’re gay?” If so, what was the acclaimed writer’s response (Sordid Lives)? Yes, prayers were answered and a matching vein was found in a vein bank over in Baton Rouge to replace his Uncle Humpty’s collapsed vein. But did Humpty lose the leg after all those prayers (Southern Baptist Sissies)? And what relative really shot a policeman in the “saliva gland” and shoulder (Trailer Trash Housewife)? Truth and fiction are finally separated in Shores' hysterical and touching one-man show and he is not afraid to "out" the celebrities he has worked with who are "bitches and assholes."
The nationwide tour produced by Jason Dottley received rave reviews: “Delicious. Laughs aplenty and even a tear or two.” Backstage, Los Angeles ; “Hilarious and emotionally devastating.” Stagebuzz.com, New York; “Deeply moving and often hysterical.” The Column, Dallas; “Terrific! Poignant and personal.” Edge Publications, Dallas; “Juicy!” Examiner, Nashville.
The film version of DEL SHORES: MY SORDID LIFE will be produced by Emerson Collins, Del Shores and Jason Dottley and Co-Produced by Michael Warwick.
We hope you will be a part of this special project!
