We're skitchin' our way back in time with a little help from Shredasaurus Rad! who wants to remind you that "Winners Don't Drink Drugs."
The idea for this design germinated a little over four years ago while visiting New Hampshire. While driving to Funspot arcade, my wife was cut off by a car that blew through a stop sign. The usual expletives and grumbles were said but then, from the back seat, the voice of my eight-year-old sister chimed in. She decried, "They most be drinking drugs!" Laughter immediately erupted and continued for the rest of our journey's duration. When my wife and I were still chuckling about the phrase a week later, I knew I had to work it into a future design. Remembering all the anti-drug messages that were embedded in the Saturday morning cartoons I watched or the arcade games I played as a child in the 1980s & 1990s, I wanted to create a design that would be an amalgamation of that era and tone. For your consideration, "Winners Don't Drink Drugs."
Like my previous campaigns, the goal is to fund a limited edition run of this artwork on apparel and print. However this will be my most ambitious campaign so far as I am offering four different design choices on ten different styles of tees and tanks. If successfully funded, this limited edition apparel will be made to order for the backers along side a small batch run to be sold at conventions and shows. Like ARKADO & EFEMERECO, once all these shirts have been sold, no more will be made.
The following are mock ups of the design on the different apparel options. Please click the image for more information about the apparel (i.e. size options, measurements, fabric blends, etc.).
The desktop pattern, the postcard, and the art prints will feature the "Winners Don't Drink Drugs" design in a different color version not pictured here. This exclusive color version will not be released to the public until backers receive their rewards.
*** STRETCH GOALS ***
1). If we hit $1,700.00 for funding, every backer who pledged $15 or more will receive a die-cut label of Shredasaurus Rad! (the skateboarding dinosaur in the center of the design).
2). If we hit $2,000.00 for funding, every backer who pledged $15 or more will receive a lapel pin of Rat, the mouse head decal illustrated on Shredasaurus Rad!'s skate board, as well as the die-cut label mentioned above.
Risks and challenges
All print production for this campaign will be done on Long Island and most will be sourced through the printing company I work for. The greatest challenge will be obtaining the funds required for the production run as this project is my most ambitious to date. It features multiple designs and multiple style options; however, I have handled projects similar to this for private clients, so I feel confident that I can complete this project within the deadline give if successfully funded. The only plausible hurdle I see relates to lack of exposure, so if you (the backers) want this limited apparel to be produced, please share this campaign with as many people as you can through as many avenues you can (Twitter, Facebook, podcasts, word-of-mouth, etc.). It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
