I originally created "Arkado" as custom cabinet artwork for my Dad's MAME cabinet which was a Christmas present my brother and I put together for him.
My original intent for "Arkado" was a celebration of the classic video game arcade featuring both the iconic and long forgotten characters of the 1980's.
Video games, particularly those of the classic arcade era, have greatly shaped my imagination, artistic direction and epistemology.
I want to share this image with the world as a single run, limited edition silk screened t-shirt, printed in both men and women cuts.
The image with be silk-screened on the following tees, depending on t-shirt size order:
Mens Sizes: S, M, L, XL, & XXL; Charcoal Black Bella+Canvas Men's Tri-blend Tee (As Pictured Above)
Mens Sizes: 3XL, 4XL, 5XL; Charcoal Gildan Adult Ultra Cotton T-Shirt
Ladies Sizes: S, M, L, XL, & XXL; Charcoal Black Bella+Canvas Ladies' Triblend Tee (As Pictured Above)
Ladies Sizes: 3XL; Charcoal Gildan Classic Fit Ladies' Ultra Cotton T-Shirt
This will be a single run. Once the orders are fulfilled, this image as it is presented will not be run again, thus a limited edition to those who support the project.
Other rewards for backing this project are as follows:
An "Arkado" 4.25" x 5.5" postcard that will be signed, personalized and mailed by the Artist. The postcard features the same artwork used for the tee.
An "Arkado" 11" x 17" poster, signed and numbered by the Artist. The poster features the same artwork used for the tee. Like the tees, these posters will be limited in nature as they will only be run and numbered for the backers of this project.
An original one-of-a-kind doodle form the Artist's "Daily Doodle 2013 Project." These are original doodles signed and dates. They will be randomly selected by the Artist and only (10) will be chosen.
A one-of-a-kind original piece created for you. Paint markers on a plank of wood, then stained and sealed. Suitable for hanging. A unique design based on your answers to 5 question as asked by the Artist.
Risks and challenges
If successfully funded, the biggest challenge would be getting everything out in a timely fashion. I have an expected date to be September of this year. Ideally, I would like it to be August but September is more realistic. In the event it takes longer to send out the purposed rewards, I will be in contact with the supporters through the blog feature here; however, this scenario is unlikely.
Most people, logically, would assume the physical production run of the tees, posters and postcards may present the greatest challenge to this project. Those risks and challenges are curtailed completely because I am the production manager for a large printing company here on Long Island, which will produce all of the items (sans original artworks) detailed on this page.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
