Mission of ARCO: By the rise of technology, the great voyage of space exploration has begun. Your mission is to explore the opportunities inside the great universe with ARCO, who is your your lovely teammate and best alliance. When you meet enemies or obstacles. Don't panic, ARCO will always back you up. Let's start discovering the unknown alien planet. By collecting resources, solving puzzles and fighting enemies, you will learn meaningful skills to conquer the universe.
On the alien planet, you would have a high possibility encounter enemies like alien robot army, wild monsters Octopus etc. Don't be afraid! Hold the ARCO controller, aim at your target, pull the trigger to fire. Boom!
During ARCO's adventure in the endless universe, there may be clues in the Puzzle games. Try to solve it to get clues or collect resources to upgrade ARCO.
People tend to think that coding is difficult, so we especially design the coding game for you to play with. Kids can easily get hands on it with no pressure. By setting up sequences of commands, you will significantly improve your logical thinking.
Point to go:
In order to accomplish some missions in the game, you might need to set up automate path in game scene for ARCO to achieve. Pin AR flags in the map, ARCO is smart enough to get there and accomplish the task.
Technology behind ARCO
Dive into the AR Environment:
ARCO's AR system with object recognition allowing your smart phone to track the location and position of ARCO, so the program could know if ARCO's weapon hit the target or no. The plane detection technology would let you to place a 3d virtual environment directly onto any surface area like your working desk or floor.
With the latest AR technology from Apple ARkit, Google ARCore and cutting edge 3D object tracking technology, ARCO could brings life-like game scenes right into your house.
ARCO & Auto paring controller:
The controller can be stored in ARCO's inner capsule, where is recharges and communicates with ARCO through a magnetic pogo connection joint. Once you open up the shield and pull out the controller, it can automatically find and pair with each other.
Multiple Ways of Interacting:
ARCO Controller has built in accelerometer which brings high precision motion detection. Along with trigger and rocker, making ARCO Controller flexible and functional during the ARCO exploration story in AR Scene.
When designing ARCO, we have tried our best to minimize the physical size, in order to make you feel more comfortable when holding it in your hand. Due to its small size, you can have a lot of fun with it in small spaces, like on a table, on the living room floor and driving avoid obstacles.
Well-Calibrated AR Glasses:
ARCO AR GLASSES have been calibrated to adapt to the ARCO GAMES on smart phones. There is a physical adjustment panel on top of the Glasses that could help to change the Lens distance between your eyes and the focal length of each Lens.
With track-style wheels, it can overcome obstacles easily.
10 RGB PROGRAMMABLE LEDs:
ARCO has 10 RGB LED lights, 2 on the front side, 2 inside the inner capsule, 6 on tail side, each LED is programable for different colors and flashing sequences.
1. The controller and ARCO itself can be connect through standard 2.54mm 4 pin pogo connector, which expose a 2 pin serial communication port. Both on the two pieces. This port can accept third party connections. That means you could attach a sensor on controller and read the data, then let ARCO to react accordingly.
2. Both controller and ARCO using NRF52 series chip set, which means the firmware will be rewritable. BTW. We will give out the BLE APIs for hacking all the functions like leds, motors, sensors inside ARCO.
3. For the AR part, we will release a the MAP Editor later. User can design or modify map according to their own imaginations. Basically it is like Minecraft AR version.

We've successfully ran our last campaign HICAT.LIVERA and shipped all rewards, check out the Background Story.
Risks and challenges
Two years ago, we've started our first project HICAT.LIVERA. The campaign was successful and we've gained tons of skills during mass production. We are very confident that we will bring the final version of ARCO successfully off of the production line. The below list contains the main challenges in ARCO's production process:
The mechanical & electrical design of ARCO is done! Once we received the necessary funding, we will start the hardware production immediately.
Plastic Molding would be the main challenge during the production process, We've widely researched factories which have related production experiences, and we’ve finally signed an agreement with a large-scale professional factory, who has successfully produced smart toy for big named companies in the past. We sincerely promise that we will provide the highest quality toy, no matter how much it cost!
As a maker-based team, we are great at making electronics. The PCB within ARCO will be placed with the best BLE chips (Nordic Nrf52 series), We will make automaticly test each device to ensure each final PCB board is well fabricated and functioning properly.
After all of the parts have been assembled, we will calibrate every ARCO robot to make sure ARCO's motion bit works correctly; that it will run in a straight line and rotate properly.
We are using Unity as our APP development platform, as it has a well capability to handle mobile technology like AR Kit and AR core, We have already finished 5 game scenes. What we need to do next? Firstly, we will create more scenes and place all the game scenes into a fun story line, this will including the whole adventure story of how the ARCO robot can explore the entire alien world. Secondly, we need to extract the app and launch on the Apple APP store and Google play, it takes time to pass the app review.
We are busily creating game content and synchronizing it as the campaign continues, We plan to finish the first beta version of game before the end of this year.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
