Audio Fiction is a NYC based indie rock band that is stepping into the studio this weekend to begin recording, but we need your help!!! The NY Daily News has said “New York pop-rock band Audio Fiction ... with its "Garbage meets No Doubt" sound and energetic live shows. Fans love the band's catchy riffs, unique guitar solos and deceptively serious lyrics”
Our new album has the same bittersweet vocals with a little bit of a harder edge, new mind blowing guitar solos, and introducing our new bass player Dean! We are extremely fired up about making this new record for you. We’ll be releasing this new record on our own but need your help! Because AF are a true indie band, a literal “do it all yourself” act in every sense of the word, we do rely on your continued support. We cannot thank all of you enough for your support so far! Any donation is extremely appreciated!
Once again, the band is excited to be working with ex AF-bassist and now multi award winning producer/composer, Darren Korb (Bastion) as producer on this record. Recording an album is expensive, especially a really good one. Anyone who bought our last record knows we really invest in the quality of the recording. But we need your help! Which is why we're so thankful for platforms like Kickstarter to really tap in to our grassroots fan-base. So we hope you take the time to pledge your support and help us get this record out there. We kept the pledge amount low…but we estimate the record will cost us in the region of $5000+ when all is said and done.
If this campaign is successful, the money will be spent to cover the recording and release costs which will include:
-Studio Time for the recording
-Engineering/Mixing/Mastering the Album
-Paying our amazing Producer
-Album artwork, graphic design, and packaging
-Various other incidentals around the release, marketing/PR etc
Audio Fiction first got together in New York City in early 2003. Since then we have had various members come and go. Through sheer grit and determination, this self managed band has produced one EP, their self-titled debut album, formed our own record label to distribute and market them, produced and shot our own music video, authored our song Race the Hourglass for Harmonix’s Rock Band game and became one of the few first true independent bands to debut on the Rock Band network.
Despite having no marketing budgets or big label tour support, Audio Fiction have been resourceful. We have received a ton of critical acclaim in a variety of online and print outlets - from The New York Daily News, The New York Post and The Village Voice, to The Hollywood Reporter, The Deli Magazine, OK Magazine, Curve Magazine, The Aquarian, The Sun (Ireland), Gothamist.com and Stereogum. The band appeared on a segment for ABC's Good Morning America and has started to become a favorite in the New York Post's infamous gossip column "Page Six." Ireland's version of Rolling Stone, and early adopter of U2, Hot Press Magazine, featured the band and put them on their "Hot Band's to Watch" list.
The band made the Way Out video for an amazing $500. We are hoping to make a new video for one of our new tracks off this record. Your donations will also help us do that.
We love making music and we love our fans! Thank you so much for helping us live our dreams and make more music for the world to listen to! The more pledges we get, the closer we are to getting AF on tour and bringing our band to your hometown!!!
