Thank you! / Ode To Joy Rehearsal
Dear Friends and Supporters,
I want to thank everyone who has so generously contributed to our film, SOME KIND OF SPARK. We now have over 75 backers and almost 25% of our goal met with 21 days to go! We couldn't have done it without you and sincerely appreciate everything you've done to help. Many have posted our link to their Facebook pages, alerted friends and family and even offered to hold concerts and fundraisers. How generous you are!
We've also been hearing from folks around the world in places like Amsterdam, Korea, New Zealand and France. How inspiring!
Tomorrow morning we turn the cameras back on as a new group of kids arrive to audition for next year's program. Apparently, there are over 150 more students expected to attend than what they had last year so it'll be a full day of nerve racking auditions, nail biting, tears and laughter. I'm excited to be working alongside 3 top-notch DPs in Hope Hall, Ben Wolf and Ben Wu, (How many crews have 3 Ben's?), and look forward to sharing the days events with you soon.
In the meantime, here's a short rough-cut of the string ensemble students preparing for their end of year recital with an inspired version of Beethoven's “Ode To Joy.” They are led by Lubima Shentov, a wonderfully energetic teacher who has been a part of the program for more than 10 years.
Enjoy. And thank you!
