Ned Wilkinson is an upcoming writer of Musical Theatre. Last spring, we presented his "Fosgate: Ferret Loan Officer" at the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival, where it met with unanimous praise (save one lone dissenter, whose thing it just wasn't), was named to the Orlando Sentinel's "Ten Best of the Fest" list, AND won Patrons Pick (for having sold the most tickets in its venue. While we always say "we want to be the show that people later wish they had seen", actually being that show is somewhat of an odd victory, and people really DO want to see this show, so we'd like to bring it back and allow them access.
To do this, we're raising seed money to rent a venue in late July of this year, where we will produce "Fosgate" once again. In addition, "Fosgate" has been invited to perform at the 2013 Megaplex Convention. Remounting the show for a production in late July allows us the flexibility to perform at the convention the following weekend.
The money you contribute will allow us to secure a venue, so that any donations taken in at the convention and/or return engagement may be used to defray production expenses (touching up costumes, props, etc.), produce promotional materials (posters, that sort of thing) and (hopefully) give a little monetary love to our actors and crew for their hard work and dedication.
Risks and challenges
Once this project is funded, we will have eliminated the risk (that having been "funding".) With our kickstarter money in hand, we'll be assured of a venue, and everything else will happen.
