Neapolitano's Pizza- a delicious set collection game! (Canceled)
Neapolitano's Pizza is like Munchkin meets Lotus, with set collection elements similar to Jaipur and Ticket To Ride.
Neapolitano’s Pizza is a set collection game where players are pizza masters trying to bake the best pizzas, avoid toxic ingredients and win at all costs. This may mean burning other players pizzas, stealing ingredients or even sending the Health Inspector on them! Nicola Neapolitano is the owner of the largest pizzeria around and he needs your help to fill orders from all of his hungry customers. There’s nothing more important to him than his business and his Zelp rating, so he will hire only the most accurate and efficient chef!
(Tabletopia is now updated, scroll down to head there and play the game digitally. Accessible on your iPad very soon!)
The images in the animations are the older version of the cards but are intended as an aid to show you the main concept of the game. Scroll down farther to see the updated versions of the cards!
The freezer card displayed is an early prototype and is subject to change.

The game has changed significantly from the copy sent to Just Got Played and was improved and updated based on their suggestions.

Early playtesting with friends and local playtesters.
We have included the board in the original goal instead of hoping we reach a stretch goal because the board enhances play and makes setup much more streamlined. This being said, we are not cutting corners. Upon funding, you will receive a premium quality board with 310gsm linen cards. The tokens will be of relative thickness as well. This increases the weight of the packaging and drives the shipping cost higher. We feel it is important to give you the best quality and absolutely nothing less. Our stretch goals will be to enhance, not to add the necessary.
Below we have included a picture of the proposed final version of the board:

We will be using BackerKit to gather shipping information and submit that to the fulfillment company.
$8 throughout the United States and $19 overseas
$15 in Canada and Mexico
UPDATES include different designs for Order Tickets, design change of game board and addition of a new Order Wheel rule. The game will undergo many incremental updates until production as this leads to the best possible product for you all to play.

Amber Kempkes, Joseph Frerichs, Cassel Frerichs, Justin Haupt, Joe Kontor, JoanAnn Blomstedt, Tony Lawhorne, Matthew Frank, Caleb Frank, Patrick Siebert, Brian Fiore, Andrew Russell Birkett, Jordan Grandjean, Matt Canaday, Anji Woods, David Williss, Jason McHargue, Matthew Greenleaf, Dominique Garay, Craig Schwenke, Paul Ing, Allye Brooks, Alex Wolf, Selena, Marcus Ross.
A thank you to Amber Kempkes from ALK Games for countless hours of playtesting and discussion about the game, its components and mechanics. All game ideas I have go through her first. She is like my board of directors or my quality control department. I can't do ANY of this without her and I'm glad she's on the team with me doing ALK Games.
A thank you to Andrew from Atheris Games for listening to a Kickstarter message and offering a helping hand along the process. His advice and kindness were invaluable in making this possible. He helped me brainstorm ways to make this game better. I couldn't thank him enough.
A thank you to Matthew Greenleaf for helping me on my journey by suggesting a manufacturer.
A thank you to ShipBob for working with us and their prompt response.
A thank you to BangWee Games for giving us multiple quotes and letting us ask countless questions.
A thank you to Just Got Played for their professionalism and their willingness to play my game and create a preview well within my timeline. I really appreciate it!
A thank you to Il Lazzarone in St. Joseph, MO for allowing us to use some of their pizza imagery. They make AMAZING Neapolitan style pizza.
And finally, a thank you to BoardGamesMaker for allowing us to have a cost effective channel we could use to create high quality prototypes.
Designers who have helped me with my project deserve a mention here as well.
Atheris Games recently wrapped up their Kickstarter for Supernatural Socks, which I myself backed and previously launched Mutant Crops and Cul-De-Sac Conquest. Andrew's a great guy and was willing to help this first time Kickstarter creator without asking anything in return. He also makes awesome games too! Check out his most recent one here:
Piggy Bank Games is known locally here for their game Jack's Friends. This is a creative one versus many game and Matthew Greenleaf, the creator, is a friend of mine. You should definitely check out his game! Without Matthew, I wouldn't have even been able to start because I wouldn't have known what do as far as manufacturing the game. You can check out his site here:
Five 24 Labs is responsible for a little game known as Mint Works. You might know what it is and if you haven't played it, it is a wonderful game that is small enough to fit in a mint tin. It introduced me to the worker placement genre and is very well designed because it is simple to pick up and play but has loads of strategy and requires you to plan your moves. Justin Blaske is a great guy, offering his assistance after only knowing me through friends. He's kind of a celebrity in the board game community here and after back to back successful campaigns (the most recent being over $175,000!) you should definitely give his games a try as well!
Risks and challenges
This is our first Kickstarter so there will be challenges we will need to
overcome. We really believe in this game and the entertainment it can
provide people of all ages. We have spent months planning, playtesting
and enlisting in help from friends, family and other successful Kickstarter
publishers. We are prepared to fulfill this, no matter how many people
back it and the images provided are not completely representative of the
final project because we will be searching for the best images that
we can use. There are a lot of challenges (licensing, production,
fulfillment and design) but we feel we have a very complete product
to provide you, our wonderful backers!
We have a manufacturer lined up and ready to produce the game should this project be funded. The art and overall game is pretty much finished but part of the funds will go to acquiring full extended licensing on the images for mass production and finding the best images possible. The game has been playtested multiple times so during the campaign and leading up to manufacturing, we will ensure that the text is as clear as possible and that as many possible game scenarios are explored so that smooth, quick play is the result. We have BackerKit ready to send surveys out in a prompt manner should the project be funded. We also have fulfillment quoted through ShipBob and a timeline of when we can get manufacturing done. It looks like we might be able to get it done in less than 6 months, but 7-8 months is definitely looking the most likely.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
