My love of photography reaches back to when I was six years old. And my love of still life art, including still life photography reaches back almost as far.
I have exhibited my still life photography, and photography in some other themes as well, at the Library Arts Center in Newport NH. Here is a portion of my Artist Statement for the exhibit:
I enjoy photographing objects I have not created and placing them in a setting that will either enhance their innate beauty or cause the viewer to ponder the relationship between the objects. When the viewer comes to see these things in a new way, then I have shared in the re-creation of these objects through the viewer's experience.
With my Kickstarter Funds I will expand my selection of Postcards featuring my photography -- all kinds -- still life, nature, and more. My goal is to bring beauty and thoughtfulness more fully into our world through photography, letter writing, and by encouraging others to send mail.
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge will be to select photographs that express my creative style, but that also have appeal to postcard consumers and recipients. Another challenge is writing an engaging message, inspiring others to "pay it forward" by writing a letter to be delivered into someone's mailbox. Time management, with my creative pursuits along with raising a family, will challenge me, but definitely not be an obstacle.
Finally, the risk has been taken already. As a photographic artist, to put my material and my appeal on the World Wide Web for all to see (especially the judges :-), is to me a Risk of capital proportion.
I look forward to your judgements, and even further down the road, to writing many a postcard note to get my art into people's hands as well as brighten their day!
Thank you for the opportunity !
The video is a slide show of many of my photographs. Watching the video gives you a sampling of my topics, styles, and photos.
Backer option #2 -- a pledge of $4.00 or more -- is for overseas postcard postage.
