Churrascaria: A Cutthroat Game of Gluttony
A casual card game of food theft, plate swapping, and backstabbing for 2-6 players fighting to eat the most meat.
Churrascaria: A Cutthroat Game of Gluttony is a casual card game where players are trying to eat all the succulent meats that appear on their plates while avoiding the equally delicious but ultimately unsatisfying sides and desserts that get in the way. All the while, food theft, plate swapping, and general backstabbing keep the food flying and the steaks high. In the end, the person who consumes the most meat wins!
And a video for good measure...
We would love to support any retailers who would be interested in carrying the game. If you are an interested retailer, please contact David or Will at email@example.com during the campaign for pricing information.
Churrascaria is essentially complete - the art is all done, the rules rock, and everything is ready to go. We just need your help to make it happen!
But, if we get enough support, we’ll be able to upgrade a number of the game’s components and bring you an even better game. And if we do really well, we might have a few other little surprises up our sleeves.
And more to come!
Each and every backer is important to us. We hope our little game spreads around the world, but let's face it, shipping is very expensive and something of a logistical nightmare. To help us deal with that, we've partnered with Quartermaster Logistics for all our fulfillment needs. Their expertise should help your packages arrive safe and on time, as every game is professionally packed and protected.
QM Logistics will also be helping us make this game as friendly as possible for all our international backers. The game will be EU-friendly, with any VAT or customs being paid by us. International shipping is still a bit more expensive than shipping within the US, but we have tried to keep it as affordable as possible. Shipping for a single copy is:
US: $6EU: $12 Rest of the World: $18
While we are doing our best to offer the game to everyone who might want it, we cannot take responsibility for any lost or damaged copies to Russia, South America, Africa or Antarctica.
Churrascaria is a labor of love, but this unique and absurd little game can only be made with the help of folks like yourselves. Because producing a quality game isn’t cheap, we’ve decided to use Kickstarter to share the game with the world and help raise the funds required to make our dream a reality.
We are a small, independent game development studio out of Oklahoma City, consisting of two guys with a dream and an eye for the absurd. Along with the help of a very talented local artist, we've been able to bring our game to life. We are:
David Thomas on Game Design
Will Thompson on Development
Ellie Jang on Art
Thank you very much for your support! Without it, this would still just be an absurd dream.
Risks and challenges
We won’t lie - stuff happens. We know that delays can occur, but rest assured, any delays will be the result of ensuring we can deliver the highest quality game to you. We promise that, no matter what, we will be upfront and transparent as we work to get Churrascaria out to you.
Yes, this is our first game, but the game is essentially done. The rules may see some final tweaks as we receive more feedback from playtesters of the print and play, but otherwise, they are written and ready. The design is done, the art is complete, and we've budgeted so that we can fulfill our promises to you our backers, regardless of which stretch goals we unlock. We’ve already secured manufacturing through Shuffled Ink and fulfillment through Quartermaster Logistics in advance of launching this Kickstarter.
We’ve supported Kickstarter projects ourselves and know all too well how annoying it is to wait two years to receive the product you gave your hard-earned cash to support. Though it's our first game and first Kickstarter campaign, we are committed to bringing you "Churrascaria: A Cutthroat Game of Gluttony" on time and with the quality it deserves.
