Paleoful was created out of the desire for convenient, delicious paleo-friendly treats free of gluten, grains, dairy, eggs, corn, soy, preservatives, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). We have created allergen-friendly treats that truly taste like the “real” thing, if not, BETTER! (we hear that all the time) We have a Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix made with almond flour, a Brownie Mix made with almond flour, and a Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix made with sunflower seed flour for those sensitive to nuts. All of our products taste absolutely amazing, and we want to get them into stores across the U.S. offering convenience for all of our customers.
We have yet to find any other baking mix on the market that is as allergen-friendly as ours are. Even the baking mixes that are similar to ours either don't taste that great, or they're overly complicated and time-consuming to make. All of our mixes take literally 1-2 minutes from bag to oven. Our products may be "free" of so many allergens, but taste isn't sacrificed one bit. You definitely won't miss gluten when you have Paleoful in hand!
That’s simple. High quality ingredients are just more expensive. Almond flour itself costs $8/lb, and coconut sugar costs $4/lb. Conventional white flour costs $0.50/lb., and refined white sugar costs roughly $0.50 as well. We tried to make our treats as affordable as possible, so that’s why we decided to do baking mixes instead of pre-made products. If you look at similar products on the market that are pre-made, you’ll pay anywhere from $2.00-5.00 PER cookie. Our mixes average out to $0.83 per cookie to $1.16 per brownie which is significant savings. We wanted to make paleo-friendly/vegan treats affordable, and give people the opportunity to have their baked goods fresh out of the oven.
Our Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix tastes just like a traditional chocolate chip cookie, minus the guilt! The mix is made with five ingredients: almond flour, chocolate chips, organic coconut sugar, baking soda, and sea salt. All you have to add to the mix is any kind of light-tasting oil (coconut, grapeseed, avocado, etc.) and any dairy-based or non-dairy milk (vanilla is optional). They’re so simple to make, and you’ll have 12 freshly baked cookies within 15 minutes.
Our Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix tastes similar to a peanut butter cookie due to the sunflower seed flour. They’re definitely a crowd pleaser due to their unique flavor and chewy texture. The mix is made with five ingredients: sunflower seed flour, chocolate chips, organic coconut sugar, baking soda, and sea salt. All you have to add to the mix is any kind of light-tasting oil (coconut, grapeseed, avocado, etc.) and any dairy-based or non-dairy milk (vanilla is optional). Each bag consists of 12 delicious cookies that couldn’t be easier to make.
Our Brownie Mix is our most popular product, and is incredibly moist, chewy, and decadent. It contains only seven simple ingredients: almond flour, organic cocoa powder, organic coconut sugar, chocolate chips, ground flaxseed meal, baking soda, and sea salt. Our customers rave all the time that they taste better than conventional boxed brownies. They're absolutely incredible and so easy to make. All you have to add to the mix is maple syrup, and any dairy-based or non-dairy milk (vanilla is optional). The mix makes a 9”x9” pan of brownies, and they're truly worth every penny!
Our customers tell us all of the time that they can’t believe how healthy our treats are and how AMAZING they taste. When people actually get to TRY our cookies/brownies, they realize how good they are and that the price point is totally justified. They truly are absolutely incredible, you have to try them for yourself to believe it. Don’t just take our word for it, check out all of our 5-star reviews on our website and on Amazon.
We just started up 6 months ago, and have been quickly growing and getting attention from many retail stores in the U.S. and internationally. We need to be able to fulfill the demand, and that’s why we’re asking for your help. We need to raise money to fund our first production run with our co-packer, along with newly printed bags for all of our products which will be much more cost efficient for us in the long run.
Besides the bags of cookies and brownies, t-shirt/reusable tote bag, recipe E-book, and other perks we’re offering, you’ll also be one of the hundreds or thousands of people who help make our dream a reality. If we don't get funded, we will have to continue producing product on the small-scale, which will take us a long time to see sufficient growth. You have the opportunity to join us on this exciting ride and help Paleoful spread across the U.S. and internationally. We will be updating you all throughout this process, so join us by supporting this project!
This is how we plan to use the money if we reach our funding goal.
In order to expand our business, we have found a certified gluten-free/kosher co-packing facility who will be taking over the production of our products for us. It will cost us $25,000 for our first production run (that is the cost of the raw ingredients, packaging materials, etc.), but any money we make towards that helps us out tremendously. So, any money we raise up to $25k will be used for the co-packer.
Custom Printed Bags -
We are hoping to get custom printed bags for all of our products since they’ll be much more cost-efficient for us in the long run, but they’re a huge investment up-front. Custom printed bags for all of our products will cost us roughly $20,000, so if we reach $25k (for the co-packer), anything after that will go towards funding the printed bags.
Kickstarter Reward Fulfillment -
The reward fulfillment will cost us roughly 50% of what we raise, but most of the reward fulfillment is baking mixes. The money we receive will help us fund the co-packer production run, which will in turn give us baking mixes to fulfill most of our rewards which is great.
Kickstarter and CC Fees -
Kickstarter will charge us 5% of the total amount we raise on Kickstarter when our campaign is over. We will also be charged roughly 5% of the total amount raised for credit card processing fees.
If we don’t reach our kickstarter goal, we will get absolutely nothing (even if we’ve raised $3,000 out of our $5,000 goal). So, we need your help to reach this goal! Spread the word about our project by sharing it on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. and email your friends and family about it! Roughly 18 million people in the U.S. have gluten sensitivity, so you never know who might be out there dying to find delicious gluten-free treats. Anything you can do helps us out tremendously. Also, our project can potentially get OVER-funded, which would be great for us. That would allow us to be closer to funding our entire production run with our co-packer (we need $25k to fully fund our first run). We appreciate all of your help and support.
Risks and challenges
After we meet our funding goal, we will move forward with our co-packer to start setting up our first production run. This process can take 1-2 months if everything goes smoothly. The process of getting our bags printed can take 2-3 months, so we may not have those ready to go before we need to do our first production run with the co-packer. But, we will still have beautifully printed sticky labels in the meantime until we get our printed bags. Time is the biggest factor here, but with your guys' support, we can make this project happen and get into retail stores near you. Thank you!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
