The Story
While attending the largest leather convention in the world in Milan, Italy, I came up with the idea of a backpack for modern professionals. I wanted something that would travel comfortably, and that would organize all of my gear, while still looking like a high-end bag.

Features
The Modern Day Briefcase is designed with two leather handles, padded shoulder straps, a laptop sleeve with secure strap, pen and business card holders, and 8 internal pockets. The bag comes in in three different colors and two different sizes.

Materials
To make sure that the Modern Day Briefcase is durable and will last throughout your career, we started with the best materials.
We found the best leather in the world, and this leather is made from one of the oldest tanneries in Italy. This leather is durable, and will also age and become more beautiful over the course of your career.
For the exterior of the bag, we chose a 10 oz. waxed cotton to make the bag water resistant and durable. In addition, we used the most reliable zippers on the market, YKK zippers, to ensure that the bag will last.

Design
Creating a bag that was professional and functional was not easy. I spent countless hours coming up with the concepts that brought the Modern Day Briefcase to life. After numerous iterations, I was able to come up with the design that perfectly combines the look and feel of a high-end satchel, with the functionality of a backpack.

Product Specifications
The bag comes in two different sizes: regular and small. The regular bag will fit up to a 17'' inch laptop. The small bag will fit up to a 15'' inch laptop.

Production

I elected to make this bag with manufacturers that I know and trust to ensure that these bags are made of the highest quality. Production for this bag will occur as fast as possible; however, I will not cut any corners, and I will hold the manufacturers to the highest quality standards.

About Me
Hello! My name is Joseph May. I am a recovering attorney who has worked for enough people to last a lifetime. After realizing how much I disliked attorney life, I worked for a startup as the director of operations for awhile, before I decided to risk it all, and become an entrepreneur full-time.
This bag project was jump-started by Mark Cuban. Really, no joke! When I was considering whether or not to make this bag, I came across the following quote by Mark Cuban:
[E]very entrepreneur's job is to invent the future. I also call it ‘kicking your own [butt].” Someone is out there who thinks they have a better idea than you have. A better solution than you have. A better or more efficient product than you have...it's part of your job as the owner of the company to stay ahead of them. http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/222501.
After reading this quote, I decided I was not going to be the guy who stood on the sidelines saying, “I came up with that idea first, but I was too busy.” From that day on, I started waking up at 4 am, so that I could work on the project for three hours before I went to work. Now a year later, I am finally launching this bag.
I have a bunch of kids (4) and a beautiful wife who keeps me on my toes. If I'm not in the office, I'm probably road biking.

Risks and challenges
I have firsthand, professional experience with product development and manufacturing. In preparation for this campaign, I have already setup partnerships with skilled tradesmen for materials and manufacturing. I want to make sure I avoid any potential risks and delays in delivering the Modern Day Briefcase.
With that said, there are inherent risks of delay during the production process that may be beyond my control. In any case, I will keep backers updated throughout the campaign and manufacturing phase to ensure that I stay as true as possible to the proposed delivery schedule.
Thank you for joining my story and helping make the Modern Day Briefcase a reality!
