How It All Began
It was ten years ago when the disappearances first began.
The Sheyvet hunting party was out on an early morning trip, when we ran across what appeared to be a skinned deer hanging from a tree. Blood dripped from the carcass and pooled on the ground below. The smell of death was thick in the air, and one of the younger boys gagged, barely able to hold back the acidic bile in his throat.
Tomchak, one of the elders, held up his hand, signaling for everyone to stop moving and pay attention. He slunk forward, spear loosely gripped in his right hand. He had something in his sights, but there was the brief hint of confusion, as if his eyes were playing tricks on him. The rest of the men watched as he moved several yards ahead, stopping at a large grouping of bushes. Slowly, he extended the tip of his spear toward the plant, hesitantly taking another step forward.
Tetsu, one of the younger boys on his first outing with the party, jumped back, bumping into Yamna, who was on his first hunt as well. Tetsu dropped his bag and spear, and ran back into the dense jungle, toward the village. The rest of the hunters readied their bows and spears, as a low guttural growl came from the bushes. Tomchak looked back at the men, then again at the bushes, motioning for everyone to move in closer. Several of the new boys were visibly shaking from the adrenaline pumping through their veins. I couldn’t help but stare as urine ran down the leg of one of the boys as he struggled to knock an arrow. Without warning, Tomchak jumped backward with every bit of strength his legs could muster. He stumbled back and landed butt first in the mud, just barely avoiding the swipe of the marsh cat’s giant paw.
Together we managed to slay the giant marsh cat, but Tomchak hadn’t avoided that paw as we’d thought. He was badly injured and barely moving. Four deep claw marks stretched from his ribs to his stomach, and gushed blood profusely. Rioshi, one of the elders rushed to his side, and two of the boys sat him up to make it easier to treat his wounds. Kalak, the shaman cut down a few of the big green palm leaves, bit off a large chunk, and began chewing. He handed some to some of the other men standing around, and they began to chew as well. They chewed for a few seconds and then placed the green paste like substance over Tomchak’s wounds.
After a few minutes, the bleeding stopped, but he was still in danger of his wounds getting infected. Kalak wrapped Tomchak’s mid section with a thick cotton cloth, to hold the paste in place so we could transport him back to the village.
As we made our way through the thick jungle vegetation, and back into the village, one of the women came running toward us yelling. “Yautja! Yautja! It ran off with Chaku into the forest!” She screamed. Yautja means Predator in our native tongue. That is what we called it because it hunted men like wild game. We searched for Chaku for three days before finally giving up. We knew we wouldn’t find him because we never found any of them. Chaku wasn’t the first one to be taken by Yautja, and he wouldn’t be the last. Twenty three. That’s the number of our men that have been taken over the last year, and that’s just from our tribe alone. The elf tribes to the south lost a total of fifty three men, and the dwarf tribes to the east lost another seventy.
After a decade of Yautja taking our men, we have put aside our insignificant tribal disputes, and have banded together to put an end to its reign of terror. Only then will all of our people be able to thrive as we did in times past.
Inspired By The Predator Franchise
As a die hard fan of the movie series, I thought it would be fun to cross it with Pathfinder and D&D 5E. I wrote the story line in less than 2 days.
The plot is straight forward: Survive the jungle and find the creature that's been killing your fellow villagers for years. But beware the giant black scorpions that do battle with the creature. The ancients called them Xenomorphs.
There are a ton of fun surprises packed in this adventure.
Disclaimer: This game is in no way associated with the Predator name or franchise, other than in inspiration. Any similarities to the actual character are 100% due to complete love and admirtionfor the series.

- learn to speak Yautja at the ruins... if you make it that far.
- incorporate Yautja technology into primitive weapons... if you are strong enough to take it.
- Xenomorphs are excellent bait... if they don't kill you in the process.
