Sunday Brunch is a weekly series centered around 3 girls making their way in LA. The show is inspired by our own experiences as women in our 30's who should have it all figured out...yet don't.
Meet the gals of Sunday Brunch: Ashley, Cameron, and Ryan. They are friends that have been brought together through the world of rock and roll and are quite the unusual group. Yet what they have in common is their love for love, for having each other’s backs, and for Sunday Brunch. In this crazy world in LA where dreams can come true and be smashed at the same time, these 3 ladies hold each other's hands and hold each other's hair back when the Saturday night before is a bit rough around the edges.
Ashley is a perfect friend, with a perfect husband, living a perfect life...yet nothing about her life seems very perfect to her. As her world and marriage fall apart, she flounders in keeping up this image and lifestyle. Ashley struggles with being "defined" in this flawless way and wrestles against herself to find her own voice and perhaps find, and love, her imperfections.
Cameron is a talented and vivacious singer who is the walking definition of how dreams are shattered in the harsh music world. She was a child star with a platinum single and now sings backup. In an all male band. Cameron struggles desperately to get back out front and on top and show the world her real voice. While she struggles to find who she really is without the label of "Star."
Ryan was on the path she always dreamed; she was in LA, she was in love, and she was happy. That all came crashing down around her when she and the love of her life just couldn't make it work. She now struggles with the true definition of love. She is frustrated that at 30, she is not only single, but a bartender. Ryan fights to redefine herself but when nothing is right in your life, where do you start?
As women in LA, we’ve found it's hard to make real friends and keep your sense of self…and your sense of humor! It was refreshing when we all came together and found we had the same, ahem, neuroses. We decided to create a show to explore what we have experienced, and continue to experience. Although the show started as our creative collaboration, surprisingly it has become a place to celebrate our successes and failures. A bargain group therapy, if you will. We know there are other women out there like us, not just in LA (though it is quite the mecca), so we need your help in making this project a reality.
We have a legitimate platform interested in showcasing this series if we can pull off high production value...this takes money. We are raising money to hire the appropriate crew and quality equipment to bring this show to life amongst the vibrant backdrop of LA. All of your hard-earned money will go into the production value of the show so that we can produce and promote it.
Between the 3 producers/creators, we have experience in all facets of production. We know what it takes, we know it's a lot of work, and we know how vital it is to have high production quality. While we plan on producing the series as economically as possible, we want to hire people that are the best at what they do.
As the money is being raised, we will be hard at work in pre-production. Once we receive our goal, we will then begin production on the 6 episodes of "Sunday Brunch" to be released on a weekly basis on an online or streaming platform.
We have determined we can produce this series in bare-boned fashion with a budget of $6,000. But with any TV/web series, the production value increases as the budget increases. The more money we raise, the more our series will benefit from a higher quality level. We will be able to obtain better locations, higher skill set crew members, enhanced set decorations, and more developed editing/post-production value. Not only would we achieve these crucial advantages, but also an increased level of marketing and advertising to promote our show to reach a larger audience. While we greatly appreciate any part of the $6,000 we are requesting, the more we make, the better our show will be!
Join the Brunch each week to see what unfolds, how these ladies handle it and how many cocktails will ease the growing pains of life. Sunday, Bloody Sunday.
Risks and challenges
We are ready to face any risks and challenges that may arise because, lucky or unlucky for us, that's the nature of production. There are always egos to deal with, permits that don't go through, unexpected weather or whatever! You can't control it and you have to be ready to accommodate.
This is why it's good to be working as a trio. One of us will always be there to confront whatever obstacle may arise. And there's always be a majority opinion!
So obstacles...come at us!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
