The Mad Monster is more than just a toy. He is a great visual aid for kids as they learn effective ways to express anger and frustration. After all, in the heat of the moment, children often struggle to "use their words" and tearing something apart is an effective way to vent.
I made the Mad Monster for my grandsons. They enjoy imaginary play with him AND they use him as a reminder of behavior expectations while they are out. The Mad Monster has even made a few visits to school. Which is how I quickly discovered that other kids seemed to really like him too so we had this custom plush manufactured by Gann Memorials.
As a way to help other Mad Monster owners understand he can be used as a tool and a toy, I wrote a short story about a child having a bad day and using his Mad Monster to help him through it.
The goal of the Kickstarter campaign is to get the story illustrated and printed.

Risks and challenges
Thus far, my biggest challenges have been getting my Kickstarter video completed and finding an illustrator for my book.
I am happy to say, despite not being a video pro and struggling to find "quiet" time, my video did get done. :)
More importantly, I have found an illustrator. Aaron Hendricks, a graphic designer, has graciously agreed to provide his services. I am so excited ... he has already begun working and the sneak peak he provided looks great.
Possible future challenges could be time delays from the printer, but if this were to happen I would certainly keep everyone up to date.
Additionally, if the Mad Monster is wildly popular and requires more Monsters than I have on hand, another factory run would take about 6 to 8 weeks.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
