About

Table Top Blocks is a modular 3 dimensional terrain system that works on any square inch by inch gaming mat, conforming to any pen and paper roleplaying games both vertically and horizontally.
Table Top gaming has always been about creating worlds with your mind. We’ve taken that core tenant and run with it. By foregoing complex textures and tilesets, Table Top Blocks allows you to create a three dimensional canvas ready for the paintbrush of your imagination.

Roleplaying games take up a lot of time, most of all for the DM or GM. With table top blocks you can create a simple or complex encounter quickly and with it’s unique interlocking system it will stay that way until you need it.

From constructing an elaborate cave scene using a multitude of blocks to snapping two blocks together in order to create a wagon that you don’t have to redraw a hundred times.

Table top blocks are as versatile as the standard gaming mat. They are whatever you imagine them to be. Just like a gaming mat, you can even safely use wet erase markers on them. They are always in exact 1 inch dimensions so that no matter what scale you use, they will conform to it horizontally and vertically. Anything is possible!

Imagination is so important to the immersion and storytelling of any pen-and-paper roleplaying game. Sometimes specific tilesets can help but they can also hamper the game, forcing you into a literal interpretation of the set. In addition they can be very expensive, cutting into your snacks budget.

Created with modding in mind, the central peg of Table Top Blocks is the same diameter of a standard ¼” wooden dowel. Caps can be used to affix figurines and fit perfectly into any block. These make it a snap to customize your own blocks into trees, walls, you name it!

Risks and challenges

As it stands, 3d printing isn't exactly a fast technology. A significant risk is that demand will outstrip the capacity for 3d printing to fulfill orders in a timely manner. Despite that, if production is kept up 24/7 and enough printers are funded, orders should get out properly. In addition there are new 3d printers coming out in the near future that are much faster.
