About this project
Stretch Goal $12,000!!!
With your pledge today, we can reach our stretch goal... If we get to $12,000 in the next 24 hours we can :
BUMP UP OUR VIDEO DESIGN!
THESE ADDITIONAL FUNDS WILL GO TOWARDS A PROJECTOR AND A MAC COMPUTER. THIS WILL DRAMATICALLY EFFECT THE LOOK OF THE PLAY! THE DESIGNERS AND ARTIST ARE HARD AT WORK DOING SOMETHING YOU'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!
YOU CAN HELP MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!
We've reached over $10,000 on kickstarter! Richard Minoff is the official backer that put us over but we could not have gotten there without the generous support of ALL of our 137 backers and counting! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We can't wait for you to see PERENNIAL this summer!
There are 43 hours to go, so if you'd still like to make a pledge there is still time to help out! Thank you for the continued support!
We are nearly 80% funded!! We are so excited to be so close to our goal thanks to all of you! The designers are hard at work creating the world of the play. I wanted to share with you some photos that are being used for inspiration to create the set, lighting and the projection art. This is going to be more than your average looking play.
A big thank you to everyone for helping to create PERENNIAL. We can't wait for you to see it!
Please continue to spread the word so we can make this happen! We only have 4 days left!

Love. Everyone remembers their first time.
The subject of love is one I've been thinking about since I was a young girl and from the first time it punched me in the gut, I learned that love is not always gentle and patient. And neither is Perennial. It is a play about what it means to love each other and the ways we screw that up. A play that looks at sex, love, friendship and all the shades in between. I remember the first time I fell in love. I was 8. When I laid eyes on the boy who played Winthrop to my Amaryllis in the community theater production of The Music Man, I fell hard and vowed to make him mine. And if you don't believe me, I have my 8 year old diary to prove it, complete with the psychological analysis as to why he had an older girlfriend (something I believed at that time to be against the laws of nature): she found out that lots of other girls in the cast had a crush on him. However, after eight long and sometimes painful years of pining and plotting I got him. He was my first love, my first serious boyfriend and we were together for five and a half years. I have always been the kind of girl who goes after what she wants, or rather what I think I want (as is usually the case in matters of the heart). We think we know what it is but the minute we get it, it slips through our fingertips.
Perhaps you believe in other kinds of love. The sturdy kind? A hearty love that grows slowly over the years, but where the fire is sometimes hard to keep lit. What about the love you have for your childhood best friend, cousin, or whatever person it was that called you out on your bullshit while still making you feel like you belonged in the world? It is the many shades of love that I experienced which led me to write my first play, Perennial. The play follows Rosemary, an aspiring painter and free spirit who has just moved to NYC. While sketching in Washington Square Park she meets Tom, an architect and playboy. Their intense chemistry quickly evolves into a serious romance. Juxtaposed with this burgeoning romance are Tom's best friends, May and Donald. They've been married for several years and are now facing the monotony of their life together. Further complicating these romances is Leo, Rosemary's oft inappropriate yet earnest best friend from high school. We watch these characters struggle, come together and fall apart as they try to find themselves.
If I were to be anything else in my life I would be a love archeologist, a love anthropologist if you will, because we are here to love each other. Simple as that. Now, what the hell that means is up to you, but I hope that my play brings you one step closer to the answer for yourself.
From the bottom of our collective hearts, thank you so much for taking the time to consider our project.
See you at the show!
Risks and challenges
Live theater is risky. That's why we love it!
How can YOU help?
By funding PERENNIAL via our Kickstarter campaign, you are helping us cover half of our $20,000 budget which will pay for:
Rehearsal and performance space
Stipends for the stellar designers, phenomenal actors and creative team
Video Projection (yup this play is gonna be cool!)
Remember, Kickstarter is an all or nothing organization. This means if we don’t raise all of the $10,000 dollars, we get absolutely nothing! Whether or not you can kick in your dollars, please help us share our kickstarter page through your word of mouth, Facebook, email, your blogs, tweets, and smoke signals.
This experienced and professional cast and crew is ready to go, all we need is your help to set everything in motion. Thank you!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
