GEL is a manga inspired sci-fi/ fantasy, like Mad Max meets Lord of the Rings.
GEL tells a brutal and kick ass tale of survival and (re)connecting with the world and people around you. After the Earth suffers a cataclysm of biblical proportions, humans are nearly extinct and are no longer at the top of the food chain. There are monsters around every corner- in the skies, underground, behind your back and in your nightmares!
This Kickstarter is to help fund the illustration and printing of the third issue- we are aiming for a print run of around 300. GEL #3 is a story about a girl and her dog- our main character Sera and her dog Jellybean navigate the early years of the post-apocalypse. It's an excellent entry point for new readers! Issue 1 and 2 will be available digitally and physically through rewards!
(M/Mature readers- contains coarse language and violence)

Sera was forged in the fires of the apocalypse and hardened by the world around her. After years alone, she makes her way towards a city where peace and civilization are being reborn. But, is Sera ready to live amongst her own kind again?
The Armless is the guardian of The Rose and a symbol of worship to the city’s people. The Rose becomes increasingly unsafe as people start to question their leader’s methods of protection from threats both inside and outside of the community.
A demoness and queen of the horde. She’s a simple creature… kill everything!
The three parties are set on track to collide with each other and could spell ruin for everyone!
GEL #3 tells a story from the early years of Sera's life in the post-apocalypse with her dog Jellybean!
Fans of manga, action, monsters and badass female characters that don’t take shit from nobody will love GEL! This comic is brutal, it’s funny, it’s tragic and it’s a thrill ride from start to finish! This is a world and a story that’s been a labor of love and is visually inspired by the likes of Jean “Moebius” Giraud and Hayao Miyazaki. This is a story that showcases the art, and our strong and mostly silent protagonist lets us tell the story through the visuals instead of jamming every page full of dialogue.
Speaking of the art, GEL #1 and 2 was written and illustrated by myself. This third issue will feature art by Ally Prasad. Since this issue diverges a bit from the main plot, a change of style fits right in!
GEL #1 and 2 were fully funded out of pocket since I was flying solo. Now with an expanding creative team, we’re looking for help! The bulk of the costs will go to Ally to pay for her amazing work. Everything else is split among printing and reward production, shipping and Kickstarter fees. Please help support independent artists like Ally!

Risks and challenges
The running of this campaign means we are committed to seeing this book through. You don’t have to worry about never getting anything back- the first two issues are proof! This issue along with the rest of the series is already scripted and with full funding, Ally can begin illustrating this fantastic tale.
The biggest challenge is time. Both Ally and I have day jobs that help keep the studio lights on and helps enable our passion for GEL. We believe the projected delivery date is accurate with our schedules and the most important thing is getting it in hands and in front of your eyeballs in a professional manner.
We'll be keeping you all updated along the way with lots of sneak peaks and process posts! I hope you all come and join us on this crazy adventure!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
