Bullets, Bullets and more Bullets... What we have here are Bullets... Perfect for LARP and other stuff.
If this Kickstarter is successful we aim to produce these pre-sprayed and painted topped of with a coat of Automotive Clear coat for a little protection all for your enjoyment.
How they are used is up to you. I originally created these for use as display items but are great for use in LARP and costume accessories for Steampunk, Cyberpunk or fantasy. The inspiration was the Hellboy Samaritan crossed with the cartoon SlugTerra (SlugTerra is in no way as good as StormHawks in my opinion which was of a similar style but got cancelled for some reason.... yes I am a thirty odd year old who watches cartoons but I digress).
They are perfect for Mad Max style Road warriors or sci-fi steampunk settings. Or perhaps a dwarven hunter that hates to run out of shells.... or Even a tech addicted elf (I don't trust them personally an elf rogue probably stole the gun and pretends their culture invented it a thousand years ago). They could also be used as desktop items to jaz up the area surrounding the board or as turn counters (even better ammo counters), games pieces or simply as display items next to your favourite boom stick. Away from the gaming side of things they could even be used by the gun toting peppers amongst us not easy in the UK but if you have a catapult ready and waiting for the apocalypse and dont want to keep a pile of stones or ball bearings next to your snipers nest (front window) then perhaps a stash of these heavy slugs are just what you need.
See below an example on how they look used as part of a LARP kit.
These are cast from a hard plaster Crystacast TypeR. Its tough and I know has been used to cast game parts, terrain etc in the past so should hold up to costume use etc quiet nicely when placed in a belt, ammo box etc. We will supply these hand painted. Each one due to the hand painting will vary but will look similar to the ones in the pictures. Once painted they will be sprayed with automotive clear coat in order to protect the paint and give them a nice shine. This clear coat protects them a little but as this is plaster they will chip and scratch a little or a lot dependant on use. It's easy to patch them up should they become too distressed for your liking with acrylic or even pen whatever you kit makers have to hand really.
The Bullets themselves are roughly 2CM in diameter and 4CM tall. Because of the dense casting plaster used they have a good realistic heavy weight to them. They are chunky and have and with their sculpted look have a real Chibi Warcraft-esk character going on. The shapes vary slightly on a number of bullets as these were not all cast from the same sculpture but take a look at the bulk pictures and I hope you agree they all still look pretty cool together.
Also note that as the way I cast is an open top pour mould that the base of the bullet is flat but we will paint or draw a little circle (often not that round) to represent the primer where the firing pin would strike at the base of each bullet casing. You can also see these in the pictures and from a distance it does the job well enough.
Here's a picture of one next to an inert 9mm bullet to give you an idea of scale.

Risks and challenges
The Casting process I use means small air bubbles that can sometimes occur so these imperfections may appear but will not ditract from the overall appreance and we are getting better with the casts to reduce these but this is an amature production so inconsistances may occur with the painting and with the casting. We will of course ensure any major flaws are scrapped and not sent out.
Enjoy and thanks for your backing.
