About this project
Poetry Teachers NYC (PTNYC) fuses art and business education, employing experienced, professional poets to provide affordable instruction in the arts. At PTNYC we use the term “poet” liberally to apply to many realms of writing and the arts. We take a tailored, student-driven approach to our classes and workshops, allowing attendees to set measurable goals towards their artistry upon enrollment.
The goal of our organization is to provide quality education, which is community driven. We employ locally active artists who open up a network of knowledgeable support to students. Our classes will expose attendees to new methods and contemporary works, while helping them to cultivate their own craft. Our workshops and classes will offer students an opportunity to apply their learned skills by preparing them to actively showcase their work at PTNYC-sponsored events and elsewhere. Not only does PTNYC promote creative consciousness, but we also prepare students for the market-driven aspects of art. Our instructors guide students through various practical processes, which include: writing cover letters, navigating the ins-and-outs of publishing, marketing one’s individual talents, and much more.
Please share our passion for education in the arts with your friends and family.
Risks and challenges
PTNYC is on a path to revolutionize arts education. Enthusiasm and hard work have gotten us off to a great start, and we look forward to building up our infrastructure so that we can create a true platform for sharing our passions.
Your philanthropy will help PTNYC reach our goals, so we can help students reach theirs. Your contribution towards our $3,500 goal will help us to sustain space, support our faculty, host student-run events, and market PTNYC. Donate as much or as little as you like to help keep arts education accessible and thriving.
Poetry Teachers NYC wants to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for you interest in PTNYC and look forward to introducing you to our program, faculty, and network of talent!!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
