Toy Pizza is a YouTube show created by three friends that covers all things collectible...especially action figures! We love action figures so much, we decided to create our own! "Knights of the Slice" are what we call our fans and so we've decided to immortalize them as a plastic plaything.
Growing up, we loved all the 80s tokusatsu shows (especially with bad dubbing) and decided our Knight of the Slice figures should be a love letter to that genre of programing.
Utilizing Jesse's background as a toy designer, the Knight of the Slice action figures will be professionally manufactured in China, standing roughly 4" tall with several points of articulation.
The goal was to design an action figure we always wanted to play with. We wanted to create something that synthesizes all of the influences we think are cool. Knights of the Slice are heroes who are ready to battle, are drawn to shiny objects, and are very chill on the reg...just like our fans!

Toy Pizza is a Frederator production showcasing the coolest collectibles every week. Starting in Feb. 2014, the show quickly grew to 20,000+ subscribers and 1.4 million views. It is hosted flawlessly by the fine-haired hosts Jesse DeStasio, Cade Hiser, and Nicky Fung. Their hair is really nice. Like ...really, really nice.
Jesse DeStasio heads up Eerie Theory Entertainment, a licensing company focusing on intellectual property from YouTube and Kickstarter. A lifelong toy fan, Jesse started in the toy industry as an unpaid intern, eventually working at Play Along / Art Asylum, Jazwares, and Mezco. His favorite toy line (currently) is Swamp Thing.
Nicky Fung is Toy Pizza's video editor and spends too much time making things look nice and/or stupid silly in the edit bay. In addition to collecting toys, he collects sneakers (obsessively). Like most 20-something-year-olds, he grew up with Star Wars, X-Men, Ghostbusters and Power Rangers toys.
Cade Hiser is a YouTube-Certified Strategist and MCN Manager for the Channel Frederator Network. A YouTube veteran, Cade hosted his own channel CadeGoestoCollege between 2007 – 2012, and now hosts “Hungover with Cade” on Cartoon Hangover with over one million subscribers. A graduate of the University of Houston, Cade is a Pokemon Master and an expert Rubik’s Cube solver.
We have an awesome partner in We Love Fine who are co-developing this line with us. We've got a great factory selected and financing in place for the steel tool. But we want to make this as big of a project as it can be, so we are raising $10,000.
What that 10k does-
Most importantly, we can make sure someone from our team (Jesse) is in China when the first samples come off the assembly line. This will ensure a better final product!
Risks and challenges
Any toy production has a laundry list of variables that can go wrong (and will go wrong) but we'll be communicative with anything that may cause a delay. The good news is Jesse DeStasio has 14 years experience in the toy industry-- with a specific focus being in China overseeing the actual production line, so there is no learning curve.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
