Unicornland is an eight-episode series that navigates uncharted territory in New York City's dating scene: Couples.

Divorced at 28, Annie sets out to experience love from a different point of view. In each episode, she comes face-to-face with the good, the bad, and the complicated of a new relationship - finding her own way to reclaim self-assurance and sexual confidence.
WHY UNICORNLAND?
We made Unicornland because it's the show we want to watch.
Relationships are changing in vibrant, unexpected ways. A new generation of women have been empowered to be the agents of their own desire. As a team of women and feminist allies, we crafted the series through the lens of a strong, female lead unafraid to laugh at the awkward process of finding love.
Along the way, we were overjoyed to find that Annie's experience resonated with a wider community who opened their arms to us, freely providing their time, homes, and in-kind donations to ensure the series' high quality and authentic voice.
Now, we're asking for your support to complete our vision and bring it to a wider audience. #unicornwithus!

WHY ARE WE CROWDFUNDING?
Shooting is fully wrapped and here's what we've got to show for it:

We're raising funds to transform 1.4TB of raw footage into the high-quality, fully-crafted series we know it can be.
The 15 hours of 4K camera+sound on this hard drive are the result of:
- 4 months of pre-production
- 28 crew members
- 19 cast members
- 30 extras
- 8 days of shooting
- 13 unique, prepared locations
- The support of our amazing friends at Thistle & Spire, Birch Coffee, Dar 525, Shag Brooklyn, Huckleberry Bar, The Little Beet, and Two Boots Pizza
We had an amazing time bringing Annie's story to life - some of which we documented on social media, and a lot more we're saving to share with our community of backers (that's you!).

OUR ESTIMATED BUDGET FOR POST-PRODUCTION:
- Editing - $5,000
- Assistant Editor - $1,500
- Sound Mixer - $2,750
- Soundtrack + Score - $2,500
- Color Mixer - $1,750
- PR / Marketing - $1,500
When we reach our goal of $15,000, we'll be able to bring you a story that's fresh, bold, funny, and honest, that will make you re-examine the conventions you love by.
We can't wait to share it with you.

Risks and challenges
Unicornland has completed principle photography, which puts the riskiest, trickiest part of shooting film well behind us. That said, not even meeting our funding goal can fully prevent the possibility of unexpected challenges.
The greatest potential setback is scheduling. In order to off-set the risk of losing a crew member to a scheduling conflict, we have drawn up a shortlist of editors, sound and color mixers, and composers. Each one is an expert, whose style and vision will complement Unicornland.
Another consideration is where and how to distribute Unicornland. We are in talks with several different distribution platforms, all of which would provide free streaming. In the unlikely event that none of these platforms partner with us, we will stream the entire series on Youtube or Vimeo, with the final episode on VHX as pay-per-view (certain contributors will receive a free access code).
However: If we fail to meet our funding goal, we will be in a very difficult position. The countless hours, money and hard work that went into planning, casting, preparing, coordinating and shooting 15 hours of footage will be wasted. Our intention of using Unicornland to impact the greater conversation on modern love would be denied.
Unicornland was made to be SEEN and SHARED. Providing we meet our goal, the series will be out and available in October 2016.
