The Trust Sketchbook is an expermiment: a guided exploration of 'what trust means to me'. A co-created, co-drawn, and co-written book, incorporating words and images, deliberately incomplete. As you read it, you complete it.
In 2017, I am undertaking a global research project into 'Trust'. Called 'The Landscape of Trust', it is large, complex, and scientific. But it left me wanting more. How about other ways of exploring 'trust', through words and images?
So I thought I'd try an experiment: a colouring book, a coffeetime book, a zine, an adventure. A guided journey, that takes a path through the same subjects as the scientific study, but does so as a reflective exploration space.
The Trust Sketchbook is a proof of concept: this version is a limited edition, with up to 250 copies in total, all part of an experiment.
It will consist of 24 pages, each of which you complete yourself, to learn a little, to explore, to reflect. The book will be glue or staple bound (I'll have to determine this once the drawing is complete!) on one side, opening out to present facing pages.
At the end of the journey, you will be encouraged to #WorkOutLoud, to snap an share your journey, to contribute to a wider, shared understanding.
Risks and challenges
The book is deliberately incomplete: it's sketched, and sketchy! There is nothing particularly complicated about the design or production: this will be a limited print run, each one numbered, and ten available with their own unique hand-illustrated cover.
I am looking for adventurers and collaborators, people who are willing to try the idea, to be part of the co-created journey.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
