About this project
We are Paul, Rich and Ebbe and we have architect problems.
We are tired of looking up dimensions, stupid facts, and sketching out of scale. So we distilled information from design manuals, drew little drawings of things we actually use, combined it with dot grids at 4 different scales and made it into a travel size notebook.
The A:LOG, designed with a minimalist aesthetic, has a soft letter pressed cover and perfect stitch binding. It features the highest quality paper and a ruler bookmark insert. A:LOG also comes in imperial (US) and metric (International) versions for designers and architects all around the world. It will be an essential tool for you around the office, in meetings, or on site.
IN THE A:LOG
Part I : Reference Information (30 pages)
1) Design Information such as line weights and font sizes.
2) Building Elements like door dimensions, window heights.
3) Technical Guidelines such as egress, ADA, and structure.
4) Architecture References like magazines and websites.
5) Living Scenarios of bedroom, kitchen, living room and bathroom.
We believe that sketching remains a vital tool of how we understand Architecture. To us, Architecture is super fun and often messy so we incorporated user friendly drawings to illustrate daily living scenarios to make Architecture and design accessible to everyone.
*A:LOG (US version) is the version we are showing in the images and video. A:LOG (International version) is drawn according to international building code, and all measurements are in metric.
Part II : Dot grids at 4 different scales (130 pages)
*The metric dot grids are in 1:200, 1:100, 1:50, 1:20 scale.
While there are a lot of different dot grid notebooks out there, A:LOG is the only one that provides a diverse range of scales so you can draw plans at a 1/16” and 1/8" scale then draw a detail at a 1/4" or ½” scale all in the same book! The dot grids are especially handy when you are on site, taking dimensions without a ruler.
BE PART OF PROJECT A:LOG
Whether you are just starting out or you are a professional in the field, as long as you love design and architecture, you will love A:LOG. With your support, we'd like to gather enough pre-orders to cover the printing costs to get this notebook into your hands. It also makes for a great gift, so we've opened up higher pledges for those of you who want more than one.
Thank you so much for checking out our project and your support is greatly appreciated!

Q/ Whats the difference between the US and International A:LOG?
A/ A:LOG (US version) is the version we are showing in the images and video. The guidelines and dot grids are all drawn in feet and inches. A:LOG (International version) is drawn according to international building code and dot grids are at a metric scale. The metric dot grid are in 1:200, 1:100 1:50 1:25 scale. You will be able to specify which version you would like when the project is funded.
Q/ Is shipping included and how does it work?
A/ We are offering free US shipping only. Please add $15 for international shipping. We will send you a form to fill out with your most up to date address when the A:LOG is ready to be shipped, estimated around late August. Don't worry about filling out your address now, we got you!
Q/ Is this the final design of A:LOG?
A/ The A:LOG shown in the video and images is our prototype. We strive to make the best notebook possible and it really depends on your help. The final product will be more refined than our current prototype. Please check our updates to follow the A:LOG development adventure!
Q/ When will you start to ship?
A/ We hope to begin manufacturing as soon as the kickstarter campaign is over and be able to ship the A:LOG to you in the beginning of September!
GOODIES COMING YOUR WAY!
Risks and challenges
Project A:LOG has been in the works for over a year and we have established great relationships with our manufacturers and design collaborators. Moreover, our design team can't be more excited to get the book printed. We're also familiar with producing all the tier rewards and getting them out on schedule. ...all that being said, we have a small team and the three of us do just about everything. So if an emergency were to arise, it might cause a delay. But we don't anticipate that happening and we will do everything within our means to delivery A:LOG to you on time!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
