"Greetings" from AMERICAN COLORIZING

We're seeking History lovers who share our vision of connecting a generation raised in a hi-tech world of action and color - with America's story. Since the advent of photography, museums have told this story in Black & White - which did the job well for 150 years.

However, in 2016, more than half the U.S. population didn't grow up with black & white photos, films, or even black & white television.

Museums see the potential in exhibiting colorized historical images, however, there is the matter of funding. Due to shortfalls in donations, many museums are forced to limit their exhibits in order to cover day-to-day operational expenses.

We've developed a funding model for colorizing historical photo exhibits - at no cost to the museums.

With your generous donations to American Colorizing's Museum Exhibits Funding Campaign aka Colorized History campaign - we can offer museums exhibits of photos from their archives - transformed into Full Color - and the museums won't miss out because of limited funds. Best of all, via the medium of Color, North America's young people will connect with history as never before.

Our Kickstarter Goal for this campaign is $5,000  With these funds, we can provide 4 museums in North America with 8 beautiful Hi-Definition photo images from their archives in restored Black & White and as Full-Color Colorizations.

These are digital images that they can enlarge and print on canvas, display as light boxes, and present in multi-media presentations. Funds raised above our goal will be used to serve additional museums. Our vision is to help 20 museums over the course of 2016, and increase the number to 25 in 2017.

But, our colorizing crusade doesn't end there. This is just a launching point. For every $1,200 donated above our goal - we can serve one more museum - perhaps one in your home town.

Your generous donations will make it happen, and help History come alive for thousands of school children and young people of all ages.

Risks and challenges

Beside securing the funding for our project, the one challenge we are faced with, is lining up participating museums. With thousands of museums and historical societies throughout North America, there is a wide field for us to choose from. Our goal is to place colorized photo exhibits in major metropolitan areas, to bring colorized history to as many people as possible.

At this time, we have our first museum hoping to exhibit our colorized photos. The African-American Civil War Museum in Washington, DC is a very fine museum that has been faced with under-funding - and really deserves a free colorized historical photo exhibit. They are very excited about our Kickstarter campaign, and are pitching in to get the word out. This is exactly the kind of museum we're trying to bless. The rest is up to YOU, and your generous funding of our project.
