About this project
I've always have the greatest respect for those in our military. When I was 6 years old I wanted to be a Navy pilot, probably because my favorite movie was Top Gun. I had this plastic AR-15 toy gun that never left my side. In college, I considered joining the U.S. Coast Guard to become a helicopter pilot. I soon realized the hardships and sacrifices that service men and women endure.
What I want to do?
I would like to provide wedding photography coverage to military personal free of charge. They have served us, now I want to serve them. I will then compile the stories and photos of these deserving couples into a book to share with all my backers.
Why I want to do this?
The average newly enlisted personnel earns $33,000/year. When split between two people, that will put the new couple near the poverty line. The average wedding photographer charges between $200-500/hour with the average coverage lasting 6 hours. Thats a total of $1,200-$3,000 for just the photographer. For many military couples in this situation, quality photography of their wedding day is simply not an option.

Risks and challenges
The main risk associated with my project will be finding military couples in the Central Florida area. If I get funding above my goal, I will be able to expand my area of search. I am currently using Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets to help locate couples.
Beyond finding qualified couples, factors such as equipment failure, acts of God, sickness, accidents preventing me from shooting or making it to the wedding are other risk that could stop me from completing the project. Some of these risks I can prepare for by having back up equipment; others are out of my control. To this day, I have never backed out of a wedding I have committed to.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
