About this project
WE ARE ENTERTAINING!. We've put alot of time and effort into the craft that is DoucheBag Machete. But...we've been doing it in a vacuum. We've spent literal years writing songs, building a show, and accumulating the resources it takes to put on a professional, yet entertaining show. But, regardless of our business acumen, we walk our own path. We can't be categorized. We have simple riffs and complex arrangements. We're theatrical but we're minimalists. We speak poetry and prose plus sing you songs of doodie avoidance, tattoos on genitalia, and overly spicy finger food.
We are ready to blow your minds. We've been working hard for you. Do yourself a favor, and get ready to be entertained!
We are playing a Battle of the Bands in Memphis, TN on January 26, 2013. Our one and only goal is to help sell tickets to this event. The reason we're offering other incentives is simply to cater to fans who may be interested, but unable to attend the show.
So, check out the video. It's a five minute montage of songs recorded live at a rehearsal. If you like heavy music, humor, originality, and simply being entertained, buy a ticket and come check us out.
Keep in mind, there'll be many other bands playing. So, make a day of it. Bring a friend, come hang out and check out what's going on in the scene. Depending on the turnout, we plan on throwing an after party, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it and will make an announcement online and on the stage.
Thanks for the interest - DoucheBag Machete
Risks and challenges
Our biggest challenge is the fact we live in Jackson, TN which is about an hour away from Memphis, where we're playing in the Battle of the Bands. The timeslots are based on your ability to sell tickets. We're at a disadvantage simply because we'll only be able to bring a minimal crowd from Jackson, so we have to get creative to try to sell thirty to forty tickets within a month. Simple as that. That's what our $200 goal is about. That's twenty five tickets sold. We shouldn't have a probelem with the rest. We're modest and are not trying to overshoot. Anyone that buys a ticket WILL have it personally delivered by a band member a few days before the show. This is the beginning of our campaign. If you're broke, just come over to the facebook page and keep in touch, maybe next time.
