Audacious: bold; daring; brave; fearless; extremely original; unconventional.
This is not a typical fairy tale where the prince saves the princess from the evil queen and they live happily ever after. This is a story for every little girl no matter who she is or where she comes from.
“Once upon a time in a land of tamales and bagels, wontons, hamburgers, fry bread and collard greens lived six little girls. Each little girl and her family lived in the same neighborhood in almost identical homes. There were many differences. Some of the girls lived with both their mom and dad, some had only one parent, and some lived with grandparents. The families of these girls came from all over the world, so they did not look alike. Some spoke English and another language too. Some girls were short and some were tall. Some girls had short hair while other girls had long. Some had dark skin and some had light skin. There were lots of differences among these girls. These differences did not keep them from being the best of friends.”
You have just read an excerpt from our new book called The Audacious Little Princesses. We need help to self-publish this first edition of a series of books called The Audacious Series. The Audacious Series of books will follow the maturation of 6 young women, who you will first meet as 5-year old little girls in The Audacious Little Princesses.
These books will address their experiences as they grow to become young women. Experiences such as the physiological and emotional transition from girls to young women, the discovery of self, the formation of dreams and visions, philosophies and opinions, and how they come to see others different from themselves. These books will also be about the positive evolution of self-esteem among our characters. The most important thing the books seek to achieve is the demystification of any notion that there are limitations to the things girls can aspire to become and achieve in their lives.
The first edition-The Audacious Little Princesses, will introduce these six little girls and quickly establish the fact that they are distinctly different from one another- but within a great sameness. They are the best of friends. They live in the same neighborhood and attend the same school. They are, however, ethnically different and don’t yet understand that they have very different historical/cultural backgrounds, religions and political influences. Those are the things the girls will come to know as they experience life, death and the myriad of things in between.
The book series will evolve as the girls grow from age 5 to 18. We have developed a plethora of storylines that will take them from childhood, through adolescence, to the brink of young womanhood. Please support us if you too consider this a worthwhile endeavor.
