"LARP" is a student BA casptone film coming out of the film production program at Emerson College. The story follows a young woman, Maisie, who strives to overcome her anxiety disorder by joining a local Live Action Role Playing (LARPing) group. There Maisie meets a pompous prince and a wise queen who inadvertently aid our heroine in her quest for confidence.
Since this film follows the adventures of a group of LARPers, there will be special attention paid to the production design as we create the fake medieval kingdom of Summerose and bring the magic to life. Shooting will take place in New Hampshire, which will require transportation of our cast, crew, and equipment from Boston, Massachusetts where Emerson is located. And of course, our beautiful cast and crew will need nourishment for the duration of the shoot. All of these aspects of the project amount to roughly $3,000 of expenses, a budget which we have worked hard to keep as low as possible.
Anxiety cripples us all in any number of devastating ways. With this film I want to look at that struggle through the lens of comedy, as I've often found the recognition of one's own lunacy, as well as that of the world around us, to be the best therapy. Please help me bring my creative vision to life and show that anxiety can be defeated on the epic battlefield of life!

Risks and challenges
In making a film one encounter countless risks and challenges; chief among those for us are things like weather, money, housing, and obtaining the equipment we'd really like to make this project come alive. Being from New England, we feel well prepared to handle the weather, and we are ready to be flexible and accommodate any weather-related challenges should they arise. A great deal of funding will come from our own pockets, but we will need your help to meet the financial needs of this production fully. Housing will involve some creative sleeping arrangements as we find places for both our cast and crew to stay, but we have many plans for how to house everyone. And finally, our equipment options will depend on the final state of our budget, but we are ready to work with anything we can get (even if it is actually an iPhone).Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
