Frequently Asked Questions
We are Rivas Supply. We believe in making smarter, more sustainable apparel, so you can buy less and do more.
As adventurers and designers, we asked ourselves, why does hiking and skiing gear always get the best of apparel innovation--making it stronger, lighter, dryer, and more comfortable for the long-haul?
We're here to bridge the gap between cutting edge technical performance and contemporary everyday design. Our apparel is handcrafted in our Los Angeles workshop using innovative materials sourced from the world’s most advanced fabric mills.
With the success of the Territory Pant we will be rolling a portion of these rewards funds into developing new, super versatile and sustainably produced apparel designs that we'll be offering through Kickstarter in the near future.Last updated:
When the campaign ends we will send you a survey where you will select your sizes and colors. So no need to worry about that now.Last updated:
We're located in Venice, CA, ground-zero for casual creative culture, surrounded by some of the most dramatic natural environments America has to offer. We've had a blast testing our gear on adventures from the Pacifica Ocean to the Sierra Nevada Mountains and everywhere in between.Last updated:
We launch on Kickstarter because it gives us the freedom we need to focus on the two things that matter most: making premium quality gear, and satisfying you.
We are 100% backer funded at every stage. That means we're not out chasing capital, not beholden to growth goals, and not designing for retail seasons. Instead, we're focusing on one product at a time, wearing the heck our of our gear everyday, and relentlessly improving.
This is our 2nd Kickstarter campaign. We're proud to see returning backers, and grateful to all the new backers. We hope to hear from you all down the road--about how much you love your gear, and what we can do to improve.Last updated:
Let's start with the fabric:
The Territory Pant is built from Future-Twill, composed of 96% air-texturized high-tenacity nylon 6.6 yarns and 4% Elastane. Weighing in at an ultra-light 170 gsm. It has a lovely matte appearance.
The Terrain Pant is built from Nano Wing fabric composed of 95% premium Japanese cotton, 5% Elastane. This fabric is a mid-weight twill weighing 242 gsm. It will have a slight sheen to it that will fade a bit after multiple washes and as you break them in.
Both pants are treated with a C6 Durable Water Repellent finish to make them repel light rain and stains like coffee, wine, and dirt from the trail. However, the synthetic fibers of the Territory Pant will maintain this finish for longer than the natural fibers of the Terrain Pant. Both are quick drying and have a subtle stretch to move with your body while maintaining the look and feel of real pants (not leggings).
The Terrain pant has slit pockets with zippers on the hips. A snap closure on the right rear and a zipper on the left rear pocket. The overall pant style is classified as a technical chino.
The Territory Pant has the classic "5 Pocket" design popularized by Levis back in 1901. The fabric itself has a hand-feel (texture) similar to a denim, though it's much more supple and lighter.
Both the Territory Pant and the Terrain Pant are designed and crafted to be used everyday for nearly every occasion, from the office, to the trail, to the bar or a nice restaurant. The Territory pant has a slight edge when it comes to wear in hot environments. They are great year round here in California, but in colder climates the Terrain may be better for deep winter months.Last updated:

The fit is "modern and tailored" to hit the sweet-spot between skinny and relaxed. We fit them to look sharp at the office and a night out, while allowing us to move comfortably when we're hiking, climbing, biking etc. And we created a form-factor taper in the backside because men have butts too--most tailored pants seem to ignore this. To be sure that The Territory are the fit you're looking for, you can check out the detailed size chart near the bottom of the page and compare to your favorite fitting pants.Last updated:
