Allison Segal is an author about to embark on a three-week tour to promote her memoir. Unfortunately, the memoir is a fabrication and the prim and tidy persona she created for herself is a lie. Over the three weeks of her tour, Allison unravels, revealing her authentic, damaged self to her fans and winding up with a new idea for a book. Also, there's a cabbage.

The short film will be made possible by your contributions and through the hard work of our amazing production team, many of whom are employees of the website, CollegeHumor.

Sam Marine is the producer of this short. Sam has an incredible track record, consistently producing polished, funny, innovative videos for CollegeHumor. She graduated with a BFA from the SUNY Purchase Film Conservatory, where she earned the Miriam Arsham Award and the Sol Turrell Award for her thesis films.

Andy Archer is the co-producer. Andy also graduated from the SUNY Purchase Film Conservatory, receiving the Miriam Arsham Award and the Chancellor's Award for Excellence. He is an independent film producer, also working for CollegeHumor.

Mitch Magee is the director. Mitch has written and directed a number of series for the web as well as for the HBO series, "Funny or Die Presents." His resume includes directing jobs for the websites CollegeHumor and Funny or Die as well as online commercial campaigns for Nerf and Sony. He began his film-making career through his association with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York. You can check out his work here:

We are relying on the generosity of the improv comedy and independent film communities in New York and Los Angeles to make this short a reality. This is a unique little movie, a labor of love. We hope friends, family and fans will give something to this special project.

Thanks!

Risks and challenges

After this project is completed, the next major challenge we face will be the long and costly process of submitting this short to festivals. Festival submissions not only involve fees, but also the creation of press kits, posters and websites as well as the cost of hotels and airfare. This Kickstarter campaign only covers our production costs. The next hurdle will be seeing the short play on festival screens.

You're just too good. You're like the type of person who donates a wing to a museum. It would probably be embarrassing for you to have the director or producers bow at your feet, but if that's what you want, that's what we'll do.
