We are excited to announce our first stretch goal! To learn more about the stretch goal, check out our backer update about it here.
The year is 2807. James and his A.I. companion Liz have been exploring the galaxy for hundreds of years, and they’ve started to get bored. A visit to a theme park called Earth World makes James think of home, but it’s not quite the way he remembers it…
A Small Favor #0 is a 20 page one-shot follow up to A Small Favor Volume 1, the book that started the series. This story takes place five years before the events of Volume 1, and it serves as a perfect jumping-on point for new readers, while also giving series veterans new insight into the characters and their motivations.
Our team had a lot of fun coming up with the various attractions in Earth World. In our story the real Earth has been dead and gone for hundreds of years, so the way it is remembered has changed over time - in some cases resulting in ludicrous interpretations of history.
We are keeping the rewards simple - you can get the book in digital or physical form. The comic is available with the standard Jeremy Treece cover ($5), or the Daryl Toh variant cover ($10). You can also pledge for A Small Favor Volume 1, the original book in the series with 110 pages of epic science fiction story featuring 13 different artists.
You can also add any of the books to your pledge as an add-on, if you've backed at a physical level. Just add $5 to your pledge for an additional copy of A Small Favor #0, $10 for a copy of the Daryl Toh variant, or $25 for an additional copy of A Small Favor Volume One: The Ruins of Enkidu IV.
If you have any questions about any of the reward levels, check out the FAQ or contact us directly.
We have three different products available for pre-order in this Kickstarter campaign. The main product we are raising money to print is A Small Favor #0: Welcome to Earth World, but we also have an exclusive Daryl Toh variant available, as well as the original 110 page graphic novel A Small Favor Volume One: The Ruins of Enkidu IV.
Caleb Palmquist and John Grimes created A Small Favor and write the series. The pencils and inks for this issue were done by the fantastic Kyle Sarafolean, with colors by the incomparable Luca Bulgheroni. The top-notch lettering in this issue is by Lee Milewski, and the incredible cover art is by Jeremy Treece.
The visual character concepts for James and Liz were created by Noah Mease, who is also the primary artist on A Small Favor Volume 1. The artwork in the reward level graphic above was created by Everette Brown.
What The Money Is For
We set our funding goal to pay for the art, printing, shipping, and fulfillment of the comic. The artwork is nearing completion, and we plan to send the final files to the printer as soon as possible after receiving funds from Kickstarter. We plan to have the digital copies of the book sent out to backers in April, and the physical books shipped out by the end of May.
Any extra funds we raise will go toward extra copies and production of the next book in the series. We also have stretch goals planned, so stay tuned!
Risks and challenges
This is our second Kickstarter project. This time around the art for the project is almost complete, so backers should get their books within a couple months after the Kickstarter ends. We have a good relationship with our printer and we don't expect any major issues with printing or fulfilment.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
