Our mission is to raise funds to start building a fully sustainable Organic Herb & Farm Garden run by CAI chef inst. and students.

Our mission is to raise funds to start building a fully sustainable Organic Herb & Farm Garden run by CAI chef instructors and students.

What specific expenses are we covering? The funds raised will cover purchasing of soil, seeds and cover some labor incurred for running and taking care of the Culinary Arts Institute's Organic Herb & Farm Garden.

What's our plan to bring this farm into reality? We are committed to work on this project everyday and have made it part of the syllabus of the Culinary Fundamentals I and II classes. Students will come in every Saturday to work on the Organic Herb & Farm Garden.

And, also important, who are we? My name is Chef Louis Eguaras, Chef Instructor/Author (101 Things I Learned in Culinary School), and we the Culinary Arts Institute at Mission College located in Sylmar, CA are very eager to have our very own fully-functional, sustainable Organic Herb & Farm Garden! We would like to create and build a functional, sustainable organic farm garden that the students will be creating, building and taking pride of. We already have started on the project and plan on moving forward. We need funding to pay for materials, tools, soil, seeds, plants, etc. We are working with Pierce College's Permaculture Department's students who have volunteered to assist in the planning of the garden to make sure that every possible land is utilized properly. We at the Culinary Arts Institute believe that with your funding, we can build this garden faster and better. Thank you!

We will get this project done! Pierce College has teamed up with the Culinary Arts Institute at Mission College and has provided permaculture advise and consultation services already. There are two culinary clubs... the ACF Club and the IFSEA Club at the Culinary Arts Institute that have already started the process of cleaning and organizing the Organic Herb & Farm Garden.

We also have several companies that are already on board in helping make this project a success and with your support, this project will get additional funding to help it even further.

Once funded, we will be sending you a weekly update of what has been happening and provide a report on our success!
